Watercooler Chat – Weekend Edition – UPDATED

We made it to the weekend!! What does everyone have planned?

Today Sarah speaks in Tupelo at another Extraordinary Woman conference. Since we didn’t get video from Lynchburg, I am not expecting it from here. We will post any articles we find.

UPDATE: Here is an article discussing Palin’s speech in Tupelo today.

I am also going to make this the open thread for the weekend. We can build off of it and I’ll post any breaking news.

News from yesterday:

Alaska Lawmakers plead guilty for roles in 2006 scandal.

Cain changes his 9-9-9 plan.

This is very telling.

I find this very interesting.

Cain won another straw poll.

Rubio seems to be taking some heat and defending himself. I find the timing of this curious.

UPDATED: Governor Palin gives her testimony in Tupelo.

      Hello gaHanson
Our good Gov Still filling the house, gotta respect her whatever her choices are.

Her scheduling and event requirements are set up through her contract with the Washington Speakers Bureau… I was personally acquainted with one of the guys here in my home town when Gov Palin was the key note speaker at one of our Christian Schools last January. I know for fact one of those requirements was NO recording/broadcasting her remarks… With that said my wife and I sat close by where it was being recorded, and and was told by the team recording the event it was private and not for distribution.
I tried through my contact to get at least a transcript to no a vail much less the video.
It’s all agreed upon between Gov Palin and the event organizers through the Washngton Speakers Bureau!
As a side note… This event was her first after the shooting in Arizona and my friend told me they all felt sure she would cancel due to all the National attention blaming her… Gov Palin took it upon herself and called him personally and assured him she would be here regardless! Her security was doubled by the event afterwards but that was not ask for by her but willingly provided by the school. She’s the real deal and I’ve heard through the grape vine she is very generous concerning fees and her donations back, at least to this event.

      • gahanson

        Interesting.

When I posted this link the story had had about 500 views, now it is up to over 9,000, and counting.  I checked other stories on their site, and most had fewer than 400 views, and many had fewer than 100.  It’s safe to say that this is the most widely read story they’ve had in quite some time.

    Good Saturday P4A Kids…
In Honor of DC, Bachmann, Paul, Romney etc…Happy National Nut Day!
It is also “Make a Difference Day”..and I am sure Gov. Palin and the Women of the Conference will do their part in Tupelo.

This Song Seems rather appropo for this day!!!  “Tupelo Honey”

Today’s GOP Halloween Recipe of the Day:

    “Creepy Mummy Dogs”
Hot dogs are all wrapped up in a classic recipe for Halloween…or anytime a chuckle is in order.
Prep Time: 30 MinTotal Time: 50 MinMakes:

    INGREDIENTS:
1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated crescent dinner rolls or 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury® Crescent Recipe Creations™
    refrigerated flaky dough sheet
    2 1/2 slices American cheese,
quartered (2.5 oz)10 large hot dogs
    Cooking spray
    Mustard or ketchup, if desired

    DIRECTIONS:
    1. Heat oven to 375°F.
    2. If using crescent rolls: Unroll dough; separate at perforations, creating 4 rectangles. Press perforations to seal. If using dough sheet: Unroll dough; cut into 4 rectangles.
    3. With knife or kitchen scissors, cut each rectangle lengthwise into 10 pieces, making a total of 40 pieces of dough. Slice cheese slices into quarters (1/2 slice cheese, cut in half).
    4. Wrap 4 pieces of dough around each hot dog and 1/4 slice of cheese to look like “bandages,” stretching dough slightly to completely cover hot dog. About 1/2 inch from one end of each hot dog, separate “bandages” so hot dog shows through for “face.” On ungreased large cookie sheet, place wrapped hot dogs (cheese side down); spray dough lightly with cooking spray.
    5. Bake 13 to 17 minutes or until dough is light golden brown and hot dogs are hot. With mustard, draw features on “face.”High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): Bake 15 to 19 minutes.

You will note that these snacks are all wrapped the same, they all taste the same..and that means…WE ARE ALL COOKED…just the same!

You all Have a Good Saturday…
OH and Lord what a weekend for College Football.

Happy as a lark Saturday to all!

I say that after reading Riley’s Watercooler chat Friday… Riley’s relaxed and I’m relaxed for the same reasons concerning Gov Palin’s decision and her future and ours. Yes, relaxed!

“We The People” have the best of both worlds — Gov Palin’s freedom, you know from all that stuffy stuff she abhors about fund raising and kissing up — And best of all IMHO, those lefties, MSM, RINOS remain in her rear view mirror, eating dust and seeing her become a dot on the horizon; An uncatchable force, a momma Grizzley dominating the election cycle 2012 exactly as she did 2010.

Happy Trails And Sarah Palin Smiles :)

Want to see why Murkowski got elected and will stay in power? Why her fellow Senators circled around her and helped her? Why they did it is because they are all doing it…. bribing and corruption using Federal money to pay off people to get the votes…

Stephen, whatever you’ve got on the Establishment, and you and Andrew B. have something, you’ll have to drop it soon to change this race. Last night was awful to watch. Iowa is coming Jan 3rd. You have your drop date.

by Ron Devito at US for Palin:… Where Gov. Palin Leads We Shall Follow

“She may not be President of the United States, and may not be running – in the conventional
sense of the term – but she is our Private Citizen President. We look to her for leadership and inspiration. If we take her October 5 announcement in isolation and at face value, Gov. Palin remains our Private Citizen President.Nothing has changed.”

This is a long piece, but an excellent read… I think you will like it….

Thanks, Excellent read. The citizen President.  Times and events are changing rapidly.  Still holding out for the Reluctant Candidate.

    Crue,

Since there is so much talk here and there on the Palin internets about elections of yesteryear (circa 1860 mayhaps) and since you bring up unshaven faces, I think it is about time that everyone votes on their favorite Civil War Facial Hair.

  • Akabosan

Those who espouse the philosophy of Mrs. Palin and not merely her persona would do well to uphold the principles that she would champion.

This article points out why opposing Mr Romney right now warrants the energy that favoring Mrs. Palin does.

    Good Sunday Morning P4A Kids…
Happy National Mother-in-Law Day!  It is also National Mole Day!  Yes National Mole Day.
Now when I first heard of this…Yes I thought it was a day to celebrate the little dirt crawling creature
that destroys gardens. Then I thought..why would anyone want to celebrate a disgusting skin condition…What deranged Politician thought giving a day to a Rat or a skin blob was a good idea…
    HA!!!

    National Mole Day…

Celebrated annually on October 23 from 6:02 a.m. to 6:02 p.m., Mole Day commemorates Avogadro’s Number (6.02 x 10^23), which is a basic measuring unit in chemistry. Mole Day was created as a way to foster interest in chemistry. Schools throughout the United States and around the world celebrate Mole Day with various activities related to chemistry and/or moles.
For a given molecule, one mole is a mass (in grams) whose number is equal to the atomic mass of the molecule. For example, the water molecule has an atomic mass of 18, therefore one mole of water weighs 18 grams. An atom of neon has an atomic mass of 20, therefore one mole of neon weighs 20 grams. In general, one mole of any substance contains Avogadro’s Number of molecules or atoms of that substance. This relationship was first discovered by Amadeo Avogadro (1776-1858) and he received credit for this after his death.

I hated chemistry.,,but interesting none the less.

Today’s Halloween GOP Recipe of the Day: (I know you all just wait with baited breath for these.. ;o)

    “Stuffed Cockoaches”

    Ingredients:
    Pitted Dates 20-30
    Cream Cheese 1/3 cup softened
    Crushed Walnuts 1/4 cup

    Preperation:
    1. In a small bowl, combine cream cheese and nuts til well mixed.
    2. Gently fill each date with cream cheese/nut mixture (you may have to split the dates slightly).
    3. Serve in a festive halloween decorated with several rubber roaches. Label as “Stuffed Roaches,” or “Fresh-caught Cockroaches,” etc.

What better way to describe the current GOP…Fat, stuffed, cheesy and NUTS!! The Cockroach part..speaks for itself!

Back when Andy Griffith was a role model instead of the Obamacare shill he turned into, he told the story of a farmer who scrimped and saved to send his son to college. On the son’s first visit home, his father asked him what he’s been learning at college, and he thought for a second and said, “Well, Daddy, I learned pi r square.” The father bowed and shook his head, looked at his son, and said, “Son, I don’t know what they’re teaching you at that fancy college, but everybody knows pie are round; cornbread are square!”

Well, as expected, my Titans fell apart like a cheap suit, so I switched to the NFL RedZone to keep up with Tim Tebow and the Broncos. What a finish, and great job Tebow! It was nice to see the respect and affection his teammates showed him when the game was over. You know, maybe it’s just me, but I see a few parallels between Tebow and Gov. Palin, in that they both seem to attract some truly deranged detractors. Both are extremely accomplished, yet maligned because of it; both are unafraid to speak about their faith, but don’t shove it down anyone’s throat, and are maligned for that as well. Beyond that, the comparisons are apples and oranges, but I have a tremendous amount of respect for Tebow and hope he has a long and distinguished career in the NFL — and maybe at some point, play for the Titans…..please?!

    • http://twitter.com/Crueladev Crueladev

      Miss Bean…
I noted on Twitter that the first thing the “haters” attacked Tebow for (most of them Raiders fans..btw)…was his Religion.

Is that really the best they can come up with?  I then thought…like you…Palin!
      Pathetic….
