Game On – Weekend Edition – Updated With Palin Interview

Hello P4A peeps!  This should be a fun weekend.  We have Gov. Palin on Judge Jeanine’s show tonight on Fox News and we have the Broncos vs Patriots playoff game.  Two exciting events that I can’t wait to watch.

If you are wondering, I’m in my jammies :)   I convinced the family to be home bodies this weekend.  The playoff game helped too. So I have a nice 3 day weekend to enjoy at home.  I’m happy!  We have another 3 day weekend next weekend due to no school so if my foot is better, we may head up to ski then.

What does everyone have planned for the weekend?  Anyone watching the playoff game? Who are you cheering for?

Friday news dump:

Here we go folks… this could be the start of nothing good.

Nope, no go for you guys…

I could have told people this…. although I don’t know anyone who cares who Bush endorses.

Me too

I think I can see QE3 from my couch…

Preach it! I’m right there with you

Even knowing this was likely coming, it doesn’t make it any easier to hear…

Thank you Santorum

Here is Gov. Palin’s interview with Judge Jeanine.  I am just not a Judge Jeanine fan. I don’t like her interviewing style with Gov. Palin. I think her questions are leading and not objective. The Judge was certainly trying to influence the Romney narrative to protect him. JMHO (thanks to SarahNet for the video)

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Well, I am on the way out the door.  I am still working on the 50th Anniversary of my Church.  Every time I think I have it finished, something else pops up.  That and preparing dau for her semester abroad.

Firelight, down the tea but stay off the foot.  Hmm, tea … may mean you need to be comfortably seated close to the bathroom?

  • TENCOLE

Agree Firelight about Bush’s endorsements……what concerns me though, are the 19% the say McCain’s endorsement would “more likely sway their votes”.  sheesh

All here know how I feel about Lt.Col. Allen West…….that email just makes me love him even more. Mark my words……he will be POTUS some day.

11 MORE “Solyndras”………I wonder how many Americans even know about the first one.

  • Nancy6

    Good morning!

Ya know Tim Tebow is the perfect athlete for Mitt Romney. Mitt can flip flop/jump on and off the Tebow bandwagon as much as he wants and no one would bat an eye. It’s the media’s favorite pastime.

    Go Broncos!
    Go Governor Palin!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/John-Norton/100002228997007 John Norton

I ll second that, all of us will be watching the game tonight…

One of the economic slogans of the 1990′s was “you can’t manage what you don’t measure.”
We are told by Stephen K. Bannon (based on his own Wall Street
experience) that Bain Capital was famous for its metrics and data
    analysis during Romney’s tenure there.

So let’s use exactly this method to challenge Romney and his bogus claim of creating “100,000 jobs”!

    http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/political-animal/2012_01/how_low_can_he_go034735.php

How many of those jobs were American jobs and how many were jobs in
other countries? What kind of jobs were these? Were they part-time with
no benefits? What was the balance between job creation and job
destruction? How much hard-earned pension money was used to throw at
Bain’s investors? Why not break this down by year or by quarter? While
we’re at it, how much taxpayer money was used to clean up the messes
that Bain left behind? This should also be broken down and charted on a
quarterly basis. Questions such as these are only the beginning.

Romney is bragging about his Bain record so he is asking for this analysis to happen!!! Let him and his stooges defend that record with one of his dreadful Powerpoint presentations!!!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/John-Norton/100002228997007 John Norton

Well Steve Bannon threw the Gov. under the bus after Oct. 5 th …I dont listen to his bla- bla any more…

  • blackbird

As others have noted Firelight your morning news dumps are must visits, thanks for all the hard work.

    I agree with Colonel West.

When I read at the link CBS News Identifies Eleven ‘New Solyndras’ the Governor’s warning of this is just the beginning comes to mind.

  • Nancy6

I think Bon Jovi was wearing a Snuggie in the owner’s box at the Patriot-Broncos game!
    I love The Snuggie!

    • Firelight

Oh, Bon Jovi is a house favorite among Mr. Firelight and our daughter.  I got a good 2 hours of razzing out of that.  Bon Jovi looked like a goofball in his red snuggie.

  • Nancy6

The Broncos season ends tonight, but what a fun ride it was!
Didn’t think we would even sniff the playoffs and we did!
Looking forward to next season and watching how the team grows and I think, get better!
Tim Tebow has been a blessing to watch on and off the field!
    Loved the whole thing!

Congratulations to the 49ers and the Patriots!

  • section9

Well done by Firelight’s Broncos to have gotten as far as they did. Brady and the Pats had something to prove to the rest of the League. I think we might have been looking at the Super Bowl Champions last night. Green Bay will have huge problems with them (GB will have few problems with San Francisco, assuming the Pack survives the Giants).

Tebow’s legend grew as he grew as a quarterback, a leader, and as a man. Denver is lucky to have him. Now if Elway will build a stronger defense around him and give him tight ends and receivers like Brady has, then maybe next year Denver can take the next step.

you’re in Hartford? back in the very early 60s I delivered the Hartford Current in Waterford!

      • hrh40

Lots of CT on here! I’m also in New London County but have never gotten the Courant. I did used to deliver the Norwich Bulletin, however. :)

        • KatieSilverSpring

No, no, child, I lived there only for 2 years when my father was stationed at the US Coast Guard Academy – I am born and bred Chesapeake Bay (VA).  We went there and stayed at a great beach front Victorian in Niantic then moved into a rental in Waterford on the Old Boston Post Road.  We moved back to Norfolk&VaBch the August before Kennedy was shot (yes, I am old).  I then married a Marylander in 1987, been here ever since.  I was a young widow in 2006 but stayed in Maryland (children call it home).

          • Gelston

my parents are buried in Guilford, God bless them.
My father was from New Haven. He went to Yale in the depression; it was the only school on the trolley line, so he said.

      • KatieSilverSpring

ROTFLMAO – seriously the dogs looked up I was laughing so hard

    • KatieSilverSpring

OMG, thank you Gelston, I almost forgot!

  • http://twitter.com/Crueladev Crueladev

    Good Sunday Morning P4A Kids…

I let the dogs out last night about 2am as they were both running around as if the
house was on fire….they did not stray far from the back door but were very nervous
and agitated.  So I let them back in.  I stood out on the deck to hear grunting and snorting
and knew something was close by….BINGO!  We wake up to another deer carcass.  This one though has a lot more to it than the last one and I am not really sure how I am going to dispose of it as to not invite more predators.  I could let it sit there and just pop off what ever comes to get it..but that would just leave me with more to clean up….what to do…what to do…hmmmm

I may be wrong here but I am pretty sure Gov. Palin called Huckabee’s forum and rules “CandyAssed.”   Don’t attack or say anyone’s name.  I am sorry but does that not go against the very right to free speech.  Huckabee just wants everyone to get along and have a big giant hug fest in the end.  Note to Huckabee…that is why you lost…because you yourself are a “CandyAss”….just saying.

I think the Bronco’s forgot to pack their team for the road trip.  I am going to get Coach Fox the book called “Play Calling for Dummies”…

    On this day:

1777 – The people of New Connecticut (now the state of Vermont) declared their independence.
1844 – The University of Notre Dame received its charter from the state of Indiana.
1863 – “The Boston Morning Journal” became the first paper in the U.S. to be published on
    wood pulp paper.
1870 – A cartoon by Thomas Nast titled “A Live Jackass Kicking a Dead Lion” appeared in “Harper’s Weekly.” The cartoon used the donkey to symbolize the
Democratic Party for the first time.
1913 – The first telephone line between Berlin and New York was inaugurated.
1936 – The first, all glass, windowless building was completed in Toledo, OH. The building was the new home of the Owens-Illinois Glass Company Laboratory.
1943 – The Pentagon was dedicated as the world’s largest office building just outside
Washington, DC, in Arlington, VA. The structure covers 34 acres of land and
    has 17 miles of corridors.
1953 – Harry S Truman became the first U.S. President to use radio and television to give
his farewell as he left office
1967 – The first National Football League Super Bowl was played. The Green Bay Packers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs of the American Football League. The final score was 35-10.

1973 – U.S. President Nixon announced the suspension of all U.S. offensive action in
North Vietnam. He cited progress in peace negotiations as the reason.
    1974 – “Happy Days” premiered on ABC-TV.
1978 – Lisa Levy and Margaret Bowman, two students at Florida State University
in Tallahassee, were murdered in their sorority house. Ted Bundy was later
convicted of the crime and was executed.
1986 – President Reagan signed legislation making Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday a national holiday to be celebrated on the third Monday of January.

Happy Birthday  Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 1929!

You all have a good Sunday!

Anyone want some deer meat?  Plenty of rib cage left for some good bbq….

  • Nancy6

    Which one was Huntsman again?
One of the ones on the end, or 2nd from the end, during the debates?

  • pete4palin

I believe what has to happen at this point is a strong conservative candidate needs to take on Romney with a ‘scorched earth’  mentality.  Nothing can be left behind for the establishment to look forward to. Only then will they step asside. The thing is if the party picks Romney…  chances are high we will loose anyway.  Think of Shermann’s march thru Georgia.  That’s what it took to win.  They had to be demoralized because they was nothing left for them to fight for.
