Weekend At The OK Corral – UPDATED2

Good morning everyone!

UPDATED: THIS DEBATE SUCKED. THE QUESTIONS SUCKED. IF THE CANDIDATES CAN’T GO AFTER MITT ROMNEY IN THIS PARTICULAR DEBATE, IN NEW HAMPSHIRE, AT THIS TIME… THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE ON OBAMA. THIS DEBATE REVEALED EVERY SINGLE CANDIDATE AS WEAK. WTF?

Well it is debate weekend showdown.  We will find out if these candidates have what it takes to beat Mittens or if they are part of his coalition of stooges.  I know there are some internet rumors floating that both Perry and Santorum could be helping Mitt which may be why any attacks or criticisms dished either way are with soft gloves.  We will find out this weekend. If there was ever a time for Mitt to be called out for his record, it would be now.  Clearly Newt is not a stalking horse for Mitt, we will find out about the others.

If they are all really in it to win it, this is going to be a blood bath this weekend. I don’t mean with nasty, false personal attacks but there is plenty to attack Mitt on with regards to his record, his history of flip flops and lying to keep people busy.

I have a conference at our church this morning and then regular weekend stuff but I will be tuning in to the debates and don’t forget that Gov. Palin will also be on with Judge Jeanine tonight on Fox.  We will post the interview when it is available.

Friday news dump:

Yes, I hope it is Mitt’s weekend from hell.

While I like the letter Rubio sent Obama, I think he is just angling for VP.

This guy is aiming for VP too.

Not this guy, this military genius wants to be Sec. of Defense. He did say on Hannity that his endorsement will be “unconventional” and Hannity asked him if he would be endorsing someone not in the race right now. Cain said that was a possibility. I know many think it could be Sarah and maybe it is but I think it is likely Trump or someone else. Heck, it could be himself! I think he is just pimping it in way to make people think it is Sarah to get more attention.  BUT it would be pretty cool it if was.

I haven’t given up yet on this guy but my support has softened. Wouldn’t take much to reaffirm it though.

He is going to find this to be political suicide.

More vetting and his tax plan isn’t getting good reviews.

Now, if one were a super smart candidate they would see a crowded field of very flawed candidates and one VERY nasty Mittens and likely make the assumption that Mr. Nasty Mittens will play dirty and systematically eliminate the entire field of candidates except maybe Ron Paul. Then if said candidate knew this bombshell film was going to be released they might choose to just sit it out and wait for the bloodbath to be over. They would know that Mittens will be forced to exit the race mid-primary leaving the field with only significantly wounded candidates that have been fairly vetted and found to be extremely lacking in one way or the other. The entire GOP primary would need a do-over.  What on earth will the GOP do? My guess is this film might not only take Mittens out but also leave a nasty taste in voters mouths for any elite establishment type.   Hmmmmmm……..  who would be the torch bearer for reform?  Sounds like I’ll be going to the movies pretty soon.

UPDATE: I want to point out that this film is not about class warfare or anti-capitalism. This film is about what happens when you put someone devoid of morality, devoid of loyalty and hungry for money and power in charge.  It is perfectly acceptable to look at Romney’s private sector experience to decide what kind of leader he would be.  We need a job creator, not a job destroyer/exporter. I don’t want a President who has a track record of helping other countries by sending them our jobs.

Doug Brady at C4P has an excellent article showing how Romney’s actions at Bain will be used against him. He makes a great point that it isn’t whether the ads are 100% truthful, it is whether they are effective.  These ads/film will be VERY effective.

        I think when Governor Palin made her annoucement in October, Conroy tweeted that Palin and staff had a meeting in August to discuss a campaign. I think this was intended to dispel the idea that Palin never had intentions of running. This isn’t to say she made her decision then, but that it was definitely something on her radar.

    I am no genius when it comes to big business but am really appreciative of what I’m learning about crony capitalism and how GREAT the need is for we the people to provide Governor Palin with the biggest damn broom we can provide to assist her with sweeping that corruption out of our nation’s capitol.  There is one phrase though about business that has stuck with me through the years.  It is when a business deal is truly good and decent both parties benefit. This video clip looks very promising to unveil the character, or lack thereof, of rino romney.  I’m gonna grab my seatbelt!  WHOO HOO!

    Good morning all.  While I am encouraged that Newt will not fall to Mitt, I still worry.  Even if Newt gets the nomination, and at this point, I am hoping he does, I worry about the vindictiveness of the RonPaul-ites.  This amount of carnage will only benefit Obama.  I am not comfortable with it.

    I am off to Baltimore to the In-laws today for an “end of the season” to-do, as they call it.  Lots of lib nephews so I may come back war-weary.  Weary but up for the debates which I may actually stay awake to watch.  Too bad dau has decided to go skiing in upstate NY after the Baltimore event.  I would like her to watch Ron Paul in action.  She said she will switch from independent to Republican just to vote for him in the primary.  But I don’t think she fully understands how off the wall, non-Libertarian he really is.  And, his followers are nuts.

    The CPAC offer is still on, as long as you aren’t a RonPaul-ite.  They have nearly ruined all events in the past.  If only they knew how effective Risperidone is.

    OK, I promise, that’s as negative as I get.

      Very kind invitation related to attending the CPAC event. I am considering traveling to the event and would enjoy getting together with other supporters of Gov. Palin. If I do make the trip I will post on this site and see if a meeting of supporters is on.

      Dinner’s over.  Only one of the many nephews came close (but not directly) to a possible support of Obama .  You have no idea how wierd (wonderful) this is in blue Maryland.  I don’t know what to say, except (of course, with me there is always an except) maybe things are looking up?

      OK, guys, opposite the debates on Bravo is my absolute fav movie, Braveheart.  Although raised as totally Irish (I’m Dominican, Chickahominy, French, Scottish, Irish, English, one cousin thinks we are Basque - shut  up, your family is in this country long enough you can claim Maple tree roots!), I do have one line of direct descendant of Robert the Bruce which this movie makes me cringe for.  I have to learn how to fling a blade … I’m just saying.

      I remember reading this. I have never heard Santorum say that he admires or supports Gov. Palin (except when he stepped in it and had to apologize). He always says his wife is the one who just thinks she is great.

    In truth, Mr. Romney should copyright the phrase ‘flip-flop’. After all, he owns it, does he not?

    One
    other thing my father taught me – ‘Two wrongs don’t make a right’.
    Obama was our first wrong; Mitt would be our second.

    It seems like some in the LSM are exploiting the fact that Gingrich and Santorum are both Catholics (i.e., opposed to contraception in principle).

    Under present circumstances why would they do this? They want to foment division among conservatives and serve up Romney on a plate for Obama to tear apart. This is so obvious, but it needs to be said more often.

    Mornin’ troops. Taking a mental health break while working. Up to my eyeballs in W-2′s and 1099′s, plus processing memberships for my artsy fartsy liberal infested arts organization client. I get paid with gov’t. arts grant money, so you have to be gratified that at least some arts funding is going to a good conservative. However, it’s actually a pretty OK thing as far as I’m concerned, re: staying consistent with my core principles, because a lot the funding for the state arts agency comes from the sale of vanity license plates rather than tax revenues. I can live with that.

    Anyway, had an interesting thing happen yesterday morning at the supermarket. Ran into former Sen. Bill Frist. He’s a great guy, a great doctor, but was a disappointing Senate Majority Leader, at least he disappointed me, as he turned into a real squishy rino. First time I met him was right after he was elected to the Senate at a big symphony fundraiser backstage grip and grin. I introduced myself and he spent at least 10 minutes talking issues with me, very engaged, very impressive. Kept asking my opinions on this and that. It was surprising when he was chosen to be the majority leader so soon after being elected. I wondered if it was because he could be manipulated by the establishment and it would appear that might have been the case. However, one thing I always did respect him for, was that he pledged, when elected, to only serve two terms then he would leave, and that’s exactly what he did. And, ha, my suspicions about his rino-ness were confirmed when I left the store and saw him get into a Nissan Leaf. Broke my heart was all that did.

    Didn’t watch any debates, didn’t want to. Couldn’t care less. I do, however, hope that little documentary lands a body blow to Romney.

    OK, back to the grind. Y’all play nice.

    Morning all….Pietro Leatherchest here…(love that name). A rather windy and sunny Sunday here in the great desert Southwest, expected hight 74 degrees. Just back from church where we had an over-flow crowd…many new faces. Mrs. Senator and I had the pleasure of attending a banquet last night where I had a chance to visit with some of my old friends from across the state of Arizona. Its always nice to get out once in awhile. I hope everyone has a Blessed Sunday and stay out of the bushes.

    Good afternoon! Ok, so the big take-away from Gov. Palin’s interview last night was that she started to put seeds of doubt into people’s minds with regard to Romney’s electability. She probably knows how damaging this Bain Capital video will be to his campaign against Obama.

    And what will people think of the fact that Todd got his wife a manual ice auger? Why not an electric one? Hmmmm ….

    I’ve learned in life that I have to settle for less than I want with many things.  Life is not fair.
    But I’m still having a hard time even feigning any kind of satisfaction with the Sarah wannabes.

    I’m one of the 75% of GOP voters who don’t want the RINO/Establishment choice.
    IMO, Sarah is the only one that can unite the Republicans (the real ones)/TPMovement clans.
    And this is needed, not only to beat that RINO, but also Obama.

    I wish there was somebody else. Especially if Sarah really doesn’t want to do it. I wish principled, capable, constitution-loving leaders grew on trees – and we had to pick from among candidates that we admired. But leaders like that appear too rare.

    I just have little hope of beating Obama with any of the current candidates. All my hopefuls crumbled with minimal vetting and media attacks – nothing like the battles Sarah has fought and remained undefeated through.

    May God continue to bless these United States, and may the right person be elected president.

    What an extraordinary win for Light’s Broncos. An epic play in Overtime!

    I’ll be rooting for them next week as they head into Foxboro! As a Dolphin fan, I can do no other.

    I share Bill’s frustration: this is the wretched excuse for a political party that we are left with.

    I doubt that Palin will get in, but I pray that God steers her in that direction. It is all in His hands now. I can do no other.

      For the second time this season, I will root against my regional team in order to cheer for the principled underdogs! :)

      Earlier in the day, we have a 3-hour statewide tea party planning session celebrating the CT tea party’s third anniversary and charting the way forward.

      I’ll be pumped coming into the game, I’m sure!
