Viva Las Vegas Weekend Edition – UPDATED – Romney Wins

Morning everyone!

Well, they say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. I am going to assume that Romney wins Nevada and I hope that stays there and doesn’t spread to the rest of us but the February schedule is pretty favorable to Romney. Gov. Palin asks that if you vote in Nevada, please vote Newt!

So far I have 3 feet of snow in my back yard and it is still snowing. Being home yesterday I received 5 robocalls from Romney and one told me if I stayed on the line I could listen in to a live townhall and ask a question if I wanted to.  I listened and was not impressed and the questions were clearly screened. I am certain that they would not have let me ask any of the ones that I had…

I am sure I’ll be snowed in again today.  I want to remind everyone of our P4A meetup in Arizona, the Reload Retreat.  I encourage everyone to come.     I initially favored Santorum over Newt but remembering what Santorum about Palin resigning to me is unforgivable plus I think he less of a chance than Newt. I don’t want any of those 4. I hate Mitt Romney and Ron Paul and would never vote for them. I wish Sarah Palin could do more to defeat Romney. Either way she has won. I believe Jeb Bush will never run for president. I believe Sarah Palin will if she can get that national organization back to form. The Tea Party needs get behind her and change the country. Sarah Palin is clearly not a persona non-grata in the GOP. They think they have trapped her and cut her down to size. They haven’t they neutralize Ron Paul and he is actually a conspirator and a fraud. So it is really only Sarah Palin that is the resistance.

    Good morning Firelight and all.

    I am sometimes astounded by your juggling, Firelight.  Ah, but then you are still young. Do it and enjoy it for as long as it is fun.

    I recall when as the single “mom” of two small children at home with me I carried a 3.4 GPA while attending college full time, worked part-time in the VA office at school and operated a small business. The unemployment rate at the time where I lived was 10.5% so I had did not believe I could find a job that would allow the flexibility, I needed.  When I finished college I stayed with my work to pay some bills, then finally took a job paying about half of what I had been netting.

    It makes the ‘retired’ years that much sweeter.

    Thank you for sharing your time and life with all of us.  You are in my prayers each day.

    I’m with the Governor: Go Giants! Firelight, you are an astounding juggler, as mentioned below, but then again, you’re a mom.

    Really disappointed to find out that Paul is only in it for the influence. He may be playing a longer game, but I think the Establishment has his number: Rand.

    Too bad Palin is the only one left with any options at all, and those are Slim and None. Slim may have left town, too. CPAC will tell a lot.

    Good morning! Well, I am cautiously optimistic about the Patriots winning the SuperBowl. Very, very disappointed that the Gov. would vote for Eli! No way!

    So, we wait with anticipation for the Gov’s speech next week at CPAC. And we wait to see what her next move is with respect to the primary season. Does she give Newt a formal endorsement and campaign for him? Or does she remain on the side-lines knowing that Romney will keep making ridiculous remarks that will make the GOPE nervous?

    Perhaps she is hoping for a brokered convention if she believes anyone but Romney would emerge as the nominee. The good news is that we only have a few months before all of this is resolved.

    I was actually somewhat comforted by Paul’s being in it for the influence, though of course I don’t at all like him playing footsie with Romney.

    Running to get some real influence in the almost hopeless GOP and to have policy influence to rein in spending are both more worthy goals than just another vanity, family-business campaign.

       Except that Paul is REALLY showing his naivete (sp?) if he thinks Mitt will EVER give him the time of day or that the GOPE will EVER implement any of Paul’s policies.

      He would have a MUCH better shot by partnering with the Palin movement.

      But then again, Paul hasn’t shown ANY political smarts in 30 years … so why should he start now?

      My only hope is that Rand can talk some sense into him.

        Any of the other candidate’s thinking they’ll get a place a the table with Mitt are sure in for some disappointments.
        The gope will be pulling Mitt’s strings….they put him in office and will never let him forget it.

        I don’t like his views on foreign affairs and I really, really don’t like the prospect of a secret racist underbelly to him and some of his followers.

        But he has gone from being a voice in the wilderness on federal budgets and the Fed to really being heard.  And the GOP desperately needs the influence of his tiny-government, libertarian-leaning faction, considering all the go-along insiders’ willingness to ever-extend the role of the government.

        Paul would have more of a place at the table were he to go with a Palin/conservative coalition instead of the Romney camp. And I expect were he to see a path to victory for such a group, he’d join them forthwith.

        Otherwise and anyways his personal influence is bound to fade after 2012, and Paul 2.0 (Rand, that is) may be more on the national scene thereafter.

       It looks like the CPAC folks scheduled Ann only an hour before Mitt, Friday around noon and 1 pm, so the Mittbots will be hanging around, therefore she’ll get a good reception.

      The test would’ve been if she were on a day OTHER than with Mitt.

    Morning all……Pietro Leatherchest here…..a sunny, bright 72 degrees in the great desert Southwest. Excellent news round up Firelight, the CNN Money article was new to me, had never read that some of the States were proposing issuing an alternative currency of Gold and Silver and that Utah had passed a bill last year also the Local Currencies article linked from the same article was very interesting.

    You may have heard the old story about the world’s most dedicated fisherman. He had out-fished his companion all morning long. They used the same live bait, the same equipment and fished together in the same mountain stream. But he had almost caught his limit of fish while his friend had yet to catch even one.

    “What’s your secret?” asked the friend. “I haven’t even gotten a bite!”

    The angler mumbled an unintelligible answer, causing his companion to ask again.

    The successful fisherman emptied the contents of his mouth into a cupped hand and replied: “I said, ‘You have to keep your worms warm.’”

    Talk about dedication. But did you know there are at least three types of fresh water fishermen (or fisherwomen, if that fits better)?

    First, there are those who fish for sport. They like to “catch and release,” quickly throwing their catch back into the water. For these anglers, it’s all about recreation.

    Then there are those who fish because they like the taste of fish. They are selective. They only keep the fish they will someday eat.

    Finally, there are those who fish because they are hungry. If they don’t catch, they don’t eat. It is important for this group to succeed, and they are fully dedicated to what they do.

    Whether or not we fish or even eat fish, there is a lesson to be learned here. We are most likely to succeed when we approach a task fully dedicated. Especially if the task before us is difficult or there seems little likelihood of success. Whether we want to patch a relationship, build a new business, write that first novel, kick a drug habit, or go back to school, we should see how willing we are to do what it takes – even if it means keeping the worms warm.

    There are two important questions I ask myself to see just how dedicated I am. Question number one: “How much do I want this?” When some people fish, if they don’t catch, they don’t eat. Some things are too important for me to risk failure. So how much do I want to succeed at this relationship, this career or this dream?

    The other question I ask is similar: “How hard am I willing to work?” If ‘success’ only comes before ‘work’ in the dictionary, I may have to work harder than I’ve ever worked before. But if I want it enough, the hard work will be worth it.

    “Always bear in mind,” said Abraham Lincoln, “that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other one thing.” And that is where it always begins: with a whole-hearted resolution to succeed – in a task, in a calling, in a life.

    How much do I want this? And, how hard am I willing to work? Start there, and great things can happen.

I was talking to him on twitter. asking if he still talked to the Palins, remember he defended Frank Bailey, the slimeball that decided to join with the psycho bloggers in trying to destroy Sarah Palin. He started acting like a creep. I hope Sarah Palin doesn’t talk to Eddie Burke. The guy wouldn’t give me an answer if he talks to the Palins. So I assume he doesn’t.     People makes posts to the effect that the world has “gone mad”

    Thats the intention. To make you feel stressed and crazy and feel like the world is ending.

    We have also had quite a hand in skewing many many polls, some we couldn’t control as much as we would have liked. But many we have spoiled over. Just enough to make real clear politics look scary to a McCain supporter. Its worked, although the goal was to appear 13-15 points ahead.

    The polls are roughly 3-5 points in favor of Barack. Thats due to our inflation of the polls and pulling in the sheeple.

    See, the results have been working. People tend to support a winner, go with the flow, become “sheeple”

    The internal campaign idea is to twist, distort, humiliate and finally dispirit you. Our donors, are the same people who finance the MSM. Their interests are tied, Barack then tends to come across as Teflon. Nothing sticks. And trust, there were meetings with Fox news. The goal was to blunt them as much as possible.

    Watch Bill Oreilly he has become much more diplomatic and “fair and balanced” and soft. Its because he wants to retain the #1 spot on cable news and to do that he has to have access to the Obama campaign and we worked hard at stringing him a long and keeping him soft for an interview swap. It worked and now he is anticipating more access. So he is playing it still soft. This is why nothing sticks.

    The operation is massive, the goal is to paint a picture that is that of a winner, regardless of the results.

    There is no true inauguration draft or true grant park construction going on. There will be a party, but we are boasting beyond the truth to make it seem like the election is wrapped up.

    Our goal is to continue to make you lose your moral. We worked hard at persuasion and paying off and timing and playing the right political numbers to get key republican endorsements to make it seem even more like it was over and the world was coming to an end for you all.

    There is a huge staff of people working around the clock, watching every site, blogs, etc. We flood these sites. We have had a goal to overwhelm.

    The truth is here. I could go on and on, but you get the picture.

    I am saying this because I know HRC was better for the country, and now realize this. I was too late by the time I connected to her. To me Barack was just a cool young dude that seemed like a star. I didn’t know him or his policies, but now I understand more than I care to and I realize his interests are more for him, and the DNC and all working like puppets with dean. I always thought a president wanted the better good for the country. The end result I see is everyone dependent on the government, this means more and more people voting for the DNC. This means the future is forever altered. I don’t see this as America, so I am now supporting John McCain.

    Sarah Palin is a huge threat, and our campaign has feared her like you can’t imagine. If it seems unfair how she has been treated, well it’s because she has had a team working round the clock to make her look like a fool.

    This is a big conspiracy and I am so shocked that its not realized.

    We released a little blurb the other day that the Obama campaign was already working on reelection and now putting our efforts towards 2012. This was to make it seem like it was above us to continue caring about 2008. Trust me, its a lie. David is very smart, but its a sticky ugly not very truthful kind of intelligence.

    Its not over yet, but I think the machine is working. And its a hill to climb. I will be quitting my post on Nov 5th and my vote will be for John McCain.

    Fortunately, my position has been a marketing position and I don’t feel I had any part of anything I would feel guilty for. But I look forward to getting out of this as the negativity and environment upsets me. I wish you all well, and good luck. I understand your plight ”

    I am going to try to start my morning posts with the above words every day until her birthday.  Let’s try to show her our support in this tangible and weighty way.
     
    I have just a few thoughts to share with you this morning about the difference that one man or woman can sometimes make in the life of a country; in the life of a civilization.
     
    In the year 480 BC a small band of Spartan warriors took a stand in the pass of Thermopylae in Greece.  300 fighters, the bodyguard of King Leonidas of Sparta, held off for several days the myriad hosts of the slave army of King Xerxes of Persia, who was marching to subjugate the West.  Man by man these noble stalwarts fell … but because they fell the West stood, and still stands to this day!
     
    Without the 300, Greek civilization might have perished.
     
    Without the 300, there would have been no legacy to us of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Aeschylus, Sophocles and so many other glories of our intellectual and artistic patrimony.
     
    Without the 300, the world as we have known it for two and a half millennia would not have existed.
     
    And yet, what would the 300 have been without their indispensable ONE; their brother; their captain; their leader, their king, the man who animated and gave life and fortitude and deathless valor to his warriors!!
     
    No Leonidas, no 300, no Western Civilization!!
     
    One man can make a difference (I do not mention the Son of God here because, of course, HE is in an entirely different category of HIS own!!)
     
    One man or woman can turn and shift the fateful balance of a time … and of many, many succeeding times and generations …all down through the long corridors of the ages!!
     
    I believe that George Washington was such a figure: No Washington, no United States of America. He was the “indispensable man”!!! And who can seriously question the unique and beneficent effect that America has had on the world?
     
    Just to take one example, what we did after World War II, REBUILDING, with our overwhelming and munificent and superabundant generosity, shattered Europe, instead of trying to subjugate her, will stand forever as the monument of a Free and Valiant People!!!
     
    Today, today, I believe that a figure like Leonidas stands in our midst.
     
    She is brave; she is selfless; she is humble; she has a beautiful soul; she is filled with the spirit of the American Eagle.
     
    Let us, my Brothers and Sisters, strive to be like Leonidas’ 300, who said to King Xerxes: YOU SHALL NOT PASS.
     
    Let us stand with Sarah and say to the Marxist/Communist hordes who would destroy our civilization: YOU SHALL NOT PASS; YOUR “FUNDAMENTAL TRANSFORMATION”  OF AMERICA STOPS HERE AND STOPS NOW!!
     
    Leonidas fell in battle.
     
    IMHO, our Sarah has already suffered a kind of “virtual death” in the sufferings to which the Left has subjected her.  I am fully confident that the Lord will preserve her against all the machinations of her enemies to preside over an American Renaissance.
     
    Let us then stand with Sarah at “Thermopylae,” and say to all the hosts of the Establishment: SATIS SUPERQUE: Enough and more than enough.  It stops here and now, in the Year of Grace 2012.

    It is less than one week until her birthday and the CPAC speech.  We are trying to give her a little help and encouragement through a money bomb.  11 February is not D-Day, but it is B-Day … (Sarah’s) Birthday and (Money) Bombday!!

    I have a few thoughts to share with you this morning that have been inspired by the upcoming Super Bowl commercials and by reflections on the Romney Machine and the obama Machine, powerful financial leviathans that seem to stand in the way of America’s Restoration to Constitutional principles.
     
    The subject is money.
     
    I think that Conservatives have a perfect and balanced and REALISTIC attitude towards money.  We give it a high place, but certainly not the loftiest.
     
    I would contrast the Left, so many of whom profess not to care about riches, and who have been feeding and nourishing for generations the distorted image of the evil, wealthy conservatives.
     
    In fact, many Leftists are total slaves to money and security.  These people, in spite of their high-sounding ideals, when you observe how they actually live their lives, will evidently do anything to secure a tenured position on a university faculty, for example, or to secure a grant from a Left-leaning foundation, or to secure a position in the political world, in the obama “administration,” for example.   
     
    Look at the Al Gore hypocrisy!!!  What a joke this supposedly idealistic “green freak” is.  He has made barrels and fistfuls of cash through his “environmentalism”!!!  It’s a GREEN movement indeed: Green as in MONEY!!!  (and do I hear “Solyndra”??)
     
    Conservatives, on the contrary, give money a high rank, but not the highest; we are realists.
     
    I think that:
     
    We place the Lord first.
     
    We place our families, our friends, our communities, our States, our country second.
     
    We place money, powerful but not all-powerful money, third.
     
    Money can buy many things, but some things it cannot buy.
     
    Money (a lot of it!!) can buy you a commercial spot during today’s Super Bowl.
     
    Money can sometimes buy you elections, as Romney and obama seem to be hoping.
     
    Money can buy you pleasures.
     
    Money can buy you influence.
     
    Money can buy you “friends” in high places in the “hierarchy” of this world.
     
    Money can buy you the most lavish and luxurious of HOUSES.
     
    However, there are some things money cannot ever purchase.
     
    Money cannot buy a cure if one has a vicious and terminal cancer or other disease.
     
    Money cannot buy us one more second or instant of time on this Earth beyond the space and measure vouchsafed and allotted to us by Divine Providence.
     
    Money cannot avert a terrible natural disaster like an earthquake or a Katrina.
     
    Money cannot buy the love of a child or of a spouse
     
    Money cannot buy true friendship.
     
    Money cannot buy the happiness and peace of a good HOME.
     
    Money cannot buy the all-sacrificing devotion of a young Marine or soldier who throws himself or herself on a grenade to preserve the lives of his or her comrades-in-arms.
     
    MONEY CANNOT EVER PURCHASE A LIFE LIKE THE BRAVE, THE DEVOTED, THE ARDENT, THE PATRIOTIC, THE SELF-SACRIFICING LIFE OF SARAH PALIN OF ALASKA!!!!!!!
     
    She is NOT4SALE!!!

    If you’re watching the super bowl thru surround sound, disconnect the center speaker. You’ll get all the game and crowd noise, but the talking heads will be silenced! Discovered this by accident when my toddler did it on the DL. I thought it was a glitch in the broadcast. Made for an excellent football watching experience. And I am a non football watcher as a rule. I guess I really just hate experts. Y’all have fun!

    Morning all…..Pietro Leatherchest here……just back from church…another overflow crowd..A funny thing happened, Mrs Senator is in charge of the women’s luncheon that they have once a month….A church member came up to me and asked if we were going to have donkey meat for lunch…he is a tea party member and knows we are elephant lovers….I asked him who they are supporting…He said Gingrich because he cant stand Romney..Have a fun Sunday and be safe….P.S..its a sunny, bright 73 degrees here in the great desert Southwest.
