It’s The Weekend! – Updated

Happy weekend everyone!!

Anyone one have exciting plans this weekend?

I’m still working on my garage sale and my kids are selling lemonade today. I realize having a lemonade stand in some areas is a risky business. No way in my area would anyone shut down a kid’s stand. My county is VERY conservative, my school board is VERY conservative and HOA Board is VERY conservative.  Hey, the Palin 2012 truck is still parked on my street!  So I hope my kids have a great time and learn to make some money.

The Preakness is also being run today.  We need another triple crown winner but I’m not sure if I’ll Have Another is a horse that can do it…  I will be cheering him today anyway!  Maybe he can do it.

Well the Greta interview with Gov. Palin was a bust. It wasn’t anything new and just some old clips but it was good info from her as always.

    Good morning all.

    Well, the PDSers, from both the left and the right, have used this week to hammer Sarah Palin once again.  Even when they were forced by reality to give her props for impacting both the Indiana and Nebraska Senate primaries, they still used the opportunity to bash her.  Whether it was an article written by a leftie or a squishy rightie, the theme was the same- minimize the influence Sarah Palin may have in future political endeavors by painting her current influence with the voters as either minimal or non-existent.

    The PDSers either don’t understand Sarah’s purpose of making an endorsement, or they understand very well and are simply trying to stop her any way they can.  Whether, you consider her non-endorsement endorsement of Gingrich, or some of her endorsements of 2010, the theme is the same- contested primaries are good.  For anyone who paid attention, she made it clear that her objective in the GOP POTUS primary was to make Romney and his bettors earn the nomination, rather than just being coronated by the GOPe.

    I think Sarah knows full well that some of her endorsements may not result in a win for that candidate, but they will result in giving that candidate an opportunity to be heard by more people, which in turn will make the eventual winner of the primary a better candidate for the general election.  Look at her 2010 endorsement of Clint Didier in Washington State as an example.  I think she knew that his chances were slim to none, but she helped him because she liked his message and he needed a little financial boost.  She also knew that Didier would force Dino Rossi to be a better candidate.

    Sarah’s main objective in 2010 and in 2012 is the same- turn D seats into R seats and to turn an R seat that’s filled with a squish into an R seat filled by a conservative.  Sarah understands that some of her endorsements will produce immediate results and will help her candidate win and some will produce a result that will make the eventual nominee a stronger opponent in the general election.  Remember.  She was a point guard.  Good point guards know that their actions may result in an immediate basket for a team mate on this trip down the court or it may set up the team for a score on a subsequent trip.  It’s all about the result- a win for the team when the horn sounds.

    Some of Sarah’s detractors are just plain idiots.  They rag on her just because they can.  Some of her detractors are smart politically and recognize her strengths and their only hope is that they slow her down because they know they can’t really stop her.  They’ll slow her down by convincing the dolts that up is down and that in is out.  They must lie about her in hopes that some will believe the lies because they know that the truth about Sarah Palin will not help their cause.  Unfortunately, there are as many detractors on the right as there are on the left.  She’s the worst nightmare for every damn one of them.

    There’s a little nip in the air this Saturday morning and I’m in a very good mood.  I’m going to see little Jake later today so that partially explains it, but I also received some good news yesterday. 

    My sister, Belle, is coming home for a visit this summer.  Since she and her husband moved their family to the great northwest back in the 70′s, we don’t get to see her very often.

    Tho I would never tell the others, she was one of my favorite siblings when I was a kid.  She may also be the third-hardest working woman I’ve ever known. 

    Because of her age, she recently decided to give up her part-time job and just focus on her full-time job.  What is so special about that?  Friends, Belle is one of my older sisters.  I’m 66 and retired, and she is a dozen years my senior. 

    Tho I know all about those e-mails, the GOV comes in at #5.  If you knew the other women on that list, you would understand that the GOV is stepping in the highest cotton and tallest grass to even be on it.

    All those stories you’ve been hearing in recent years about Alaskan women are pretty much true.  That’s why two of them made my top five.  Belle currently works at an assisted-living facility for seniors near her home in Anchorage, Alaska.

    Tho I marvel at her work ethic, that isn’t Belle’s strongest suit.  That distinction belongs to that large muscle beneath her breast that provides so much sustenance not only to her, but to everyone who knows her.  That muscle is her heart.

    Does my sister remind you of someone else WE all know?

    My lap top was attacked by some funky virus & is at the Geek Squad as we speak. I will have to commendare the boy’s lap top to comment for a few days. It is just as well as the last week of school is next week and it is crazy busy, so I will be on line very little.

    I am freaking bored anyway. The Guv is just not visible much now. The endorsements are great but I am in need of some tape to watch.

    I still can’t get over the chick who randomly ran into the Guv at the airport. Why does things like that never happen to me?

    Hubby came back in town just to leave again for church business in Dallas. That leaves me and the boy. We are heading to see the Avengers today & a Troop activity this evening. I love having movie dates with the boy!

    Tho most people don’t even realize it yet, the party of Lincoln and Reagan drew it’s final breath in the Presidential campaign of 2008.

    The GOV was forced to stand and watch helplessly as the old warhorse McCain and his idiot handlers(Steve & Nicole anyone?) drove the final three nails into it’s coffin when (1)  The lonely old RINO McCain returned to Washington to be with his buds, the ‘Possums…err GOPe during the crisis, (2)  The McCain Campaign refused to let her do the LSM’s job and vet BO, and (3)  The Campaign gave up on Michigan.

    If this isn’t true, why do you think she ended her first book the way she did?  On some level, perhaps a sub-conscious one, she knew the party she had spent her life serving and supporting was for all practical intents and purposes no longer a vehicle that represented the will of the people it pretended to serve.

    Here’s the bottom line, people.  The Republican Party is dead except in name only.  The political views of the GOPe are so far to the left of the GOP grassroots and the party platform, it’s a bloody joke.

    The liberal darling of the left in my youth was a fellow we’ve all heard of – JFK.  Remember ‘Camelot on the Potomac’?

    Well, guess what, friends?   If I were faced with the choice of voting for JFK or Mitt Romney, I would choose the more conservative of the two and vote for JFK.  If you don’t believe this statement, I suggest you do a little homework.

    If WE intend to take back our party from these clowns and save our country, WE need to make certain that every one of these little ‘possums is forced to look down into his ‘open political grave’ as Edmund Ross did 150 years ago and see his bleak future if he doesn’t support WE the PEOPLE.

    Hey, GOV, hurry up and add some more names to that list.  WE are ready to make an impression on a bunch of jackasses and ‘possums that they will never forget.

    THE STORY OF SARAH

    Here is a citation from the book “The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien,” edited by Humphrey Carpenter, with the assistance of Christopher Tolkien, Houghton Mifflin paperback edition, 2000.

    From a letter to his son, Christopher:

    What a profound insight, authored by the creator of Middle-Earth and of Frodo Baggins; what a deep insight into human nature!

    We all love a good tale, an absorbing yarn, a crackerjack story!!

    If a million good tales were presented to the human race, there would always be room for the one-millionth-and-first!!!

    It is a profound truth that the All-Wise Lord deals with the human race as a whole, and with each individual, in accordance with the NATURE that He has bestowed on each one of us.

    One person may love music; the Lord will draw him or her with lovely strains and lyrics.

    Another person may love fine writing; the Lord will draw him or her through the literary genius of a great poet or prose writer.

    Another person may love architecture; the Lord will draw him or her through the glory and grace of splendid edifices.

    Another person may love horses; the Lord will draw him or her by the inspiring feats of, let’s say, a great and noble racehorse.

    Another person may love cats or dogs; the Lord will draw him or her through a loyal and devoted pet.

    Another person may love the military virtues and excellences; the Lord will draw him or her through the example of valorous deeds wrought on the field and campus of conflict and of combat.

    Another person may love flowers; the Lord will draw him or her through the glories and loveliness of horticulture.

    Another person may love sports; the Lord will draw him or her through the heroic exploits of a great football or baseball player, etc.

    We are all, as a race, drawn to a good STORY; so the good and gracious Lord reaches out and draws us through STORIES!!

    Why is this? Why does the Story have an appeal that is universal and timeless for us humans??

    I think that it is because, created as we have been in the Lord’s image and likeness, we share in His CREATIVE POWER when we tell and relate a truly great story.

    We cannot, as God can, actually create souls, but … but … but…

    HOW REAL, HOW FULL OF LIFE, HOW REPLETE WITH VITALITY AND WITH DEATHLESS YOUTH AND VIGOR seem figures like:

    Tolkien’s Frodo and Sam and Gandalf and Aragorn and Arwen and Eowyn and Legolas and Gimli and Galadriel and so many others;

    Shakespeare’s Hamlet and Othello and Lear and Macbeth, and so many others;

    Homer’s Odysseus and Achilles and Hector and Andromache, and so many others;

    Margaret Mitchell’s Scarlett O’Hara and Rhett Butler …

    And I have named only the tiniest and most pitiful fraction of the GIANTS who could be cited who, though they may never have “lived” and may never have drawn a single breath on this old Earth, yet LIVE FOREVER IN THE MEMORY AND LITERARY LEGACY OF THE HUMAN RACE, through the quasi-divine power of the TELLER OF A GOOD TALE!!!!

    And now let us turn to our dear and beloved Sarah.

    If Sarah were a fictional character, if someone had written a political novel about “Sarah Palin of Alaska, a Woman for All Seasons,”–if some genius had written such a volume, and included all the facts about the life of the real Governor, what a great story it would be … a literary treasure for the ages!!!

    WELL THE GOOD LORD HIMSELF HAS “PENNED” THIS STORY…

    And this STORY happens to be TRUE, not in the immortal pages of a deathless novel, but rather in the lovely REALITY of Sarah herself:

    Sarah the fearless and brave and lovely and beautiful and noble daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend, writer, orator, huntress, fisherwoman, point guard, marathon runner, flautist, stateswoman, mayor, governor, (future) president, and heroic defender of Flag and of Country!!!

    Now, the Son of God is the preeminent and Divine Exemplar of this principle– HIS DIVINE STORY, THE GOSPEL, is “The Greatest Story Ever Told.”

    As we noted above, the Heavenly Father reaches out to us in ways that are in accord with the nature He has bestowed upon us.

    He has made America the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave; these are the marks, the characteristics of the Res Publica Americana.

    So, He, IMHO, is now reaching out, reaching out, reaching out to afflicted America with A STORY, WITH A TRUE STORY, WITH THE STORY OF A BRAVE AND FREE LADY who loves her country as much as anyone since the days of the Founders of the Republic!!

    This TRUE STORY OF SARAH is one of the greatest American stories ever.

    It is now for US, by our courage, by our sacrifices, by our struggles, by our prayers, by our willingness NEVER EVER TO SURRENDER, it is now for us to make OURSELVES PART OF ONE THE MOST MAGNIFICENT STORIES EVER TOLD:

    THE STORY OF SARAH PALIN OF ALASKA, THE STORY OF SARAH PALIN OF AMERICA!!!

    Morning all…….a bright and sunny 96 degrees today in the great desert southwest. Just back from confirmation Sunday at church, nice size crowd this time of the year….Praise the Lord…Where is Sarah and what is she doing?  You would think ABC or CBS would be all over finding Sarah and what  she is up to…….since they don’t care about the history of Obama’s deceitful past…The White House comedian Jay Carney said about the 1991 bio….” Everyone fudges on their resume” So, is he admitting that Obama gave the literary agent false info? The agent said she failed to fact-check….can’t have it both ways….again in DC, its not the crime, it’s the cover-up…Have a great Sunday and play nice.
