Need For Change Monday!

Morning peeps!

How is everyone?  Thanks for all the prayers.  I’m still getting better.  I thought I would be much better by now and I am somewhat better but geez who would have thought…

Thanks to Cruela for keeping the ship afloat.  This is such a great community and I love the vibe that we have here.  I’ll leave the history to Cru since she is so very good at it and I love reading it!

So today the “panel” decides if they are going to rescue my rogue stone or not. As Cru mentioned, I’ve named it Sarah.  I consider the “panel” the same as the GOP establishment. They want to pretend it isn’t there and whatever we do, we can NOT set it free.  It’s funny how such a small stone can cause so much havoc…

      I’m only partly through the Tony Lee piece (looking forward to Whitney’s), but I love, love, love that Tony is on our (the guv’s) side.

      Also, A Brooks is of course correct about defending the morality of free markets, but he’s in the think tank bubble, used to talking to DC wonks.  You don’t want to open your argument to voters with the word ‘morality’ and he’s not the right guy to be either making or advising on popular arguments.

      How would Gov. Palin handle it?  She’d lead with real-world examples of what makes free enterprise ‘right’, leaving it to the voters to nod their heads as they internally register it as an argument for what’s moral without preaching it so clinically or directly.

    Wow, that keynote speaker spot at SALT is mighty impressive. I wonder if she scheduled this back when everyone thought she was running?

    It’ll be very interesting what will happen with Ron Paul and his delegates come convention time. hmmmm

    I really don’t give a crap what McCain says about Sarah any more. I lost respect for anything he has to say long ago and until he publicly denounces Schmidt and Walker, he’ll never get it back.

    Newt, Newt, Newt…..guess I’ve been burned…again. If Sarah comes out and officially endorses Mitt I’ll be totally crushed.

      Whitney Pitcher really did her homework for her articles (mentioned above).

      The information she provides in the article “Who Is the Real Sarah Palin?” even gets into facts and data.  Some of us serious rednecks are and have been aware of Mrs. Palin’s talents, but now that it is out in black and white (and very well produced btw) it will be even more interesting to see the detractors squirm and twist.

    One secret about me: music is my life. I breathe it. How? Well, I play flute, piccolo, fife, and working on guitar (yes Firelight, that one with the pink sparkle!). Music also speaks to me through lyrics. In fact, I have this playlist on my iPod called “Palin-list” (get it? Playlist, Palin-list. You get it) It helps me get through tough times. It’s inspired by and for Gov. Palin. “She fights!”

    Mornin’ y’all. Firelight, welcome home. Sorry to hear you’re still dealing with leftover medical pestilence, but this too shall pass (hopefully). Prayers still being sent your way.

    Absolute killer pieces by our Whit, Stacy Drake and Tony Lee over at the Bigs. I say this so often, but don’t think it can be emphasized enough — with the media and libs, we know they’re the enemy, therefore we can respond accordingly; however, to be carpet bombed with friendly fire is the most egregious act of cowardice there is. Just reason number 234 to despise the GOP establishment and do whatever is necessary to take them out.

    Go France. How do you say, “would you like freedom fries with that” in French? I’m sure the vast majority of the rich folks over there are packing up to leave before the commies slap that 75% tax on them. Man, talk about pooping in your economic lunchbox.

    Finally, a buddy of mine, a guy no less, asked if I’d ever seen this site: http://chicksontheright.com/ and I said I hadn’t. It’s very clever and a good addition to the overall conservative arsenal. I did a search and they are Palin friendly, so it’s worth checking out.

    Back to work. Now I have to attend to all the regular stuff that sat on the back burner during tax season. Y’all play nice and laugh at a Frenchman if you happen to run into one.

    Thanks for the kind words on the Breitbart series. It’s a privilege to type alongside Tony and Stacy; they are both stellar writers and researchers. This series wasn’t meant to be stuck in the past, but to reveal what has happened as a warning to the Establishment. There are also a lot of conservatives who don’t know the full story, nor know Gov. Palin’s record. I got a tweet this morning from a college student in Wisconsin who said she was going to print out copies of the post Stacy and I did on Palin’s record, laminate them, and give them to her professors! Good for her. :) This girl seems put her passion into action. Gov. Palin inspired her to run for city council, and she won! :)

      Instead of studying for stat class, I read every single article in detail. You guys are awesome! It was put together well and I hope to start working on that kind of research this summer. I loved the “Who is the real Sarah Palin?” article the best. My parents don’t even know about her record. My own parents! I’m going to print out a bunch of copies and post them all over the dorm. 

      Okay, I’m going to go study now.

    Also, all the Denver people here…is City Park worth the effort while I am there? We would like to have a day of roaming around in a park and having a picnic. Would Wash park be better? Confluence Park?? Don’t care to go into museums unless it is really awesome, we have great ones in Houston. Would rather be outside in the nice cool weather!!

      I like Confluence for outdoor fun. The REI there is great to kick around in.  Wash Park has a fantastic grille that is one of my favorites and City Park is very classic. 

      You will want to avoid Civic Center Park as that is where Occupy Denver camps out even though the Veterans Memorial is there. I would just avoid that whole area.

         Thanks, I did not even think about the Occupy freaks, I figured they would not be in parks anymore because they would have had to go back to work or school by now…..oh, wait….

        Anyway, thanks for the tip. I will put in my notes to stay away from the area around Civic Center Park. So nice to get local info like that. The REI flagship store would be cool! Is the grille in Wash Park an eat out place? If you can eat outside I bet that is nice, did I mention how hot and humid it is here already?? I’m joting your tips in my notes!!

        We’re also going to Dave and Busters because they don’t have them here and the boy and hubby went to one when we were in San Diego and they HAVE to take me there, you know, for me…..

          Yes, there is a great patio. You can make reservations at Open Table.  Lunch is my favorite because it isn’t too pricey but dinner is fun too. The food is amazing!

    Whip – Kudos to a job well done with your Big articles!   Your research is top notch and happy to see that you still ‘season’ your posts with a good dose of passion, support, and loyalty to our favorite politician.  Since Palin is all about loyalty, she will remember those who stuck with her when some on the same team turned their backs on her when they thought it was easier to play footsie with the boys instead of playing hard ball.

    Isn’t it just “precious” when the White House pushes social issues while the Economy stays in the crapper?  Doubling the fun is France electing a Socialist over the weekend.  Who the hell wants to vacation in France anyway besides Brad & Angie?  What a freakin’ joke!  It will be a long time (if ever) that I decide to vacation in France when I retire.

    Speaking of mindless WH distractions, I can’t wait to see the MSM reports on Obama’s fundraiser this week with George “I wish middle America would love me and my movies as much as I love myself” Clooney.  It seems like the only dummies willing to part with their hard earned cash for Obama are the leftist in Hollywood and the MSM.  What does that tell you?

    I saw “The Avengers” over the weekend along with zillions of others.  First off, good popcorn fun, but a bit long.  I go into summer blockbuster movies with certain expectations (good escape, lots of action) and never expect any of them to be the best movie of the year.  They could have shortened it at least 20 minutes.  Second, why is it such a hit?  Because the producers thought it best to make it family-friendly and pro-America and avoid making it another political hit job on half of America.  Robert Downey Jr as “Iron Man” and ”The Hulk” steal the movie.  Downey for his charisma in every scene and “The Hulk” for some laugh out loud scenes. 

    Only negative – the middle aged guy a few rows up from us in the middle section saving seats for like 10 people.  He was obnoxious and a jerk.  There is something terribly wrong when a middle aged white guy doesn’t offer his “saved” seats to cute families with their little boys dressed up as Captain America.

       Perhaps it is because I lived in Europe in high school, but I have no desire to vacation or even go there. Way to many wonderful places to see and visit in the good old USA!

    Afternoon all ……A sunny 94 degrees today in the great desert Southwest……Glad Firelight made it thru surgery….but using a witch doctor takes some guts…Where is Sarah and what is she doing? I was out this morning, but she didn’t call or if she called she didn’t leave a message…..waiting is really killing me..its like watching Rmoney  give an endorsement.  Sen. Richard Lugnutts is checking out assisted-living in Indiana today ahead of tomorrows primary……Don’t they know the visuals of that is not the best if you are 80 years old and trying to get re-elected…….Well, happy Monday to you all and have a great day and play nice……

      …No more witch doctors for Mrs. Firelight.  If she doesn’t pass a stone or two soon, I’ll pack up my best pocket knife and two bottles of Grand Marnier (one for her and one for me) and go out there and get them little critters myownself.  In fact, I’m goin’ straight to Wikipedia now to find out just where that gall bladder thingy is at, so I can be real close when I make that first cut.

    FYI – Earlier today, Santorum sent an email to his supporters, in which he endorsed Romney.

    The email reported on the meeting Santorum had with Romney on Friday. Santorum went on to write:

    Above all else, we both agree that President Obama must be defeated. The task will not be easy. It will require all hands on deck if our nominee is to be victorious. Governor Romney will be that nominee and he has my endorsement and support to win this the most critical election of our lifetime.

    Hopefully Governor Palin will not endorse Romney, but rather wait for the primary process to be completed, to see what Paul can do.
