Gov. Palin Defends Laura Bush

Pure grace and class.  I’m telling you that after Team Romney slammed Gov. Palin again yesterday and after all that the Bush family has done to her, she has proven such an honorable and better quality person than they are.  Frankly, I think she makes them all look like fools.

This is how it is done folks and she is right.  Posted via Greta:

“It’s such a shame that some can’t put partisanship aside to recognize the good work done by one woman who used the platform she was given to help women around the world. Laura Bush continues to work tirelessly to help women in the Middle East get access to breast cancer treatment and preventative care. She has helped shine a light on the plight of women in Afghanistan and has encouraged women small business owners. These are things all women should applaud and encourage, not criticize or dismiss. And all of this was accomplished by a woman who did not seek or aspire to the position of First Lady. In fact, I’m told that she always preferred to be referred to simply as Laura Bush and not First Lady. When she found herself in a position to serve, she stepped up to the plate and hit a home run for women, and she still does to this day as she continues her work helping women at home and around the world.

There are so many issues of great concern that should unite all women. In fact, I think there are more issues that women agree on than disagree. We’re all concerned, for example, about equal opportunity for jobs and about raising our daughters in a respectful environment that allows them the freedom to achieve their full potential. Imagine the wonderful things women could accomplish together if an example like this unfair condemnation of a worthy Alice Award recipient would cease. I think Laura Bush and most reasonable women would agree with me on this.”

    She’s a lady, whoa, whoa, whoa, she’s lady…

This whole thing just made my blood boil. Of all the First Ladies in recent memory, Laura Bush is far and away my favorite. I was watching an HBO special about Bush 41, which was actually quite interesting, believe it or not, and almost wept when they showed a few clips from 43′s first inaugural, and how totally classy Laura was, and continues to be. She’s a far cry from what we’ve got now and from her crass, rude and disrespectful mother-in-law, against whom I’ll hold a grudge until the day I die. She was never controversial and always cheerful, pleasant and good humored. The karma gods are going to be very busy in the next few months.

Yes, of all the Bush’s, Laura would be my favorite one. She has always stayed above the fray and was the perfect example of a First Lady.

That’s why I love that Palin did this. She recognized with class and grace that Laura deserved to be defended and deserves this award and at the same time really somewhat stuck it to the rest of the Bush family including Barbara by showing them what class really is.

For which she will get a kick in the teeth from that same Bush family.

The Reagans were right to treat them like the help.

It’s rather heartwarming that Palin said something graceful and kind about Laura Bush, who deserved the award. It is also appropriate that Palin criticized Laura Bush’s feminist critics, who are merely lapdogs for the left wing of the Democratic Party.

However, no good deed goes unpunished, and I don’t expect Palin to get one ounce of thanks for this statement of support.

I think it’s safe to assume that Palin had neither the motive nor expectation of ‘thanks’ or approval from Bush, Inc. She knows they’re not her friends. She was just doing what’s right, and what she’s done on other occasions — defending someone who’s being unfairly criticized and dumped on by the left.

there may be no outward sign of approval at this time.
I strongly believe it will not be forgotten by Ms Bush

Count on Palin to do what is right always. She holds herself accountable to GOD more than men and therefore does what she believes her Savior would do. Whether Laura Bush remembers it or not, there is ONE higher who takes notice.

Always look to Governor Palin to do the correct and proper thing. Her instincts, intuition and judgement appear pretty flawless. She’s simply the finest politician/leader on the American scene.
