My Faith Is Restored – Weekend Edition – Updated

Morning everyone!

Well, my faith is restored.  Jerry Sandusky was found guilty, guilty, guilty, guilty and so on – 45 times.  As Gov. Palin said last fall when asked about it… IF he is guilty, hang him from the highest tree and she will bring the rope.  Well, he is guilty and I say hang him.  I am very happy that even without a change of venue, the jury found him guilty.  After watching the riots on campus last fall and the vigils some of the people were holding, I wasn’t convinced that they would find him guilty.  I am so glad they did. It gives me hope for our judicial system.  However, I will never send one of my children to Penn State.  The mentality there is just wrong.  The students moral compass is broken when they are more upset about their school’s reputation, the football program and the legend of both Paterno and Sandusky.  Nope, not my kids.

Well, I am dragging right now.  Last night I had a house full of giggly girls for my daughter’s birthday slumber party. Yes, I now have an 8 year old.  Mommy thinks her little girl is growing up too fast.  Just yesterday I swear she turned two.

I say good for this Judge… pretty sure she won’t do that again… not sure about the rest of her issues…

For sure they did the same at their swanky Hollywood dinner… right?…

Where are the parents, no apologies yet?… God help my child if they ever acted this way…

Good, bring some reality back to the coronation… nothing wrong with a cheaper hotel…

I’m not spinning this… it is hard to defend…

      That video shows Todd a little different than what we’ve seen of him in the past.  Todd has always come across as a strong, quiet type, but he was pretty dynamic here.  He could have sat back and let Terry Crews dominate the spot, but he didn’t.  His personality really showed and it was obvious that he and Terry really like each other and he really connected with the show’s hosts.  If NBC is smart, they’ll have Todd & Terry on the Today Show promoting Stars Earn Stripes.

              I will say that we are snarky toward pretty much everyone but Palin so Mitt gets a lot of snark but some on here agree to support him and others simply don’t.  We just don’t fight over it.

          Just go to Palin4America.com and look for the link that has the day of the week in it. That is the most current link.  We also have the weekend edition that is a running thread.  We don’t put up lots of links or stories and it is a quieter thread than C4P.  We are OK with that. We are a sister site with C4P but the little sister :)   We are OK with that too.  You see us all on both sites regularly.

              I try to remain respectful as I handle it lest I not meet my own standards. I think sometimes people let their emotions runaway with them.  So I simply try and edit out the insults.  If they take offense to that then I know that they specifically meant the insults and that isn’t OK.  I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.  I haven’t banned anyone yet but if they leave because they just can’t be nice then so be it.

    Gosh, I hope I can post this here. For me the “final straw” were the attacks on exodus2011. I believe that exodus2011 is a “true patriot” and when she was attacked, well, I just couldn’t “take it anymore.” Anyway, thank you for being here. Very much appreciated! ! ! ! !

      exodus2011 is not only a “true patriot,” but a very spiritual lady as well.  She is married to a vet who was a corpsman with the jarheads in Vietnam and they are both very special people.

      Our prayers need to go out for whomever was attacking her.

        She wasn’t attacked that I saw of.  She questioned Gov. Palin’s credibility and judgement and said that she lacked any if she did not end up running for 2012.  Many like me took offense to it.  Not offense to Ex herself but to the implication.  Some asked for clarification and she pretty much double downed on it.

          My experience with exodus2011 is as I stated.  That is all I can attest to, having not been privy to the referenced remarks.

          Isn’t it amazing how passionate people become about Mrs. Palin?  I love it.  One has to know she is “on to something.”  And yet what she is “on to” is simplicity, truth and love.

            Yes, Ex is sweet and I love her optimism but I think when she said that and went “there” many were surprised.  I think that many thought they misunderstand her and therefore sought clarification.  When she verified her position, that is when the war started.

            I tried to measure my comment so that Ex and everyone else would understand that the only thing I took issue with was her comments on credibility and judgement and not her.  There are too many of us who have seen passionate supporters turn on Palin when Palin doesn’t do what they want.  That is where the caution came from. 

            None the less, some are looking for fights.  (not Ex, she pulled back on her comments after so many took issue with them) but others just wanted to stir up strife.

            Unfortunately, some claim to be accepting of other opinions but don’t practice it.  If you don’t believe Palin has a super secret plan, they question your “faith in her” etc… I find it just as annoying as people who tell me I have to get behind Romney now.  Both sides are pushing group think and intolerant of individual opinions.

                Hi Ex –

                I know your heart is in the right place and that emotions get the best of us at times.  It happens to all of us.  I do hope that you understand that it wasn’t you that I took issue with but just that particular POV.  So many of us have seen people get so passionate and when things don’t go their way, they turn on Gov. Palin.  Many Palin supporters are still raw from all that.

                As I said above, there is valid evidence for all points of view.  We accept everyone here and meet them where they are at, we just don’t fight over it here.  At this point, it is all in God’s hands anyway.

                  this is a very personal Q and please feel free to ignore, but did you have any hesitation in your mind when you became aware that Gov Palin deliberately used the term “true conservative” in her CPAC speech, when she stated that this was the kind of President that would be in the Oval Office in 2013?

                  did you at that point think quietly ‘oh .. I wish she wouldn’t say that .. ‘

                  … or since that time, have you thought ..’ heck, I wish she hadn’t said that’

                  Well, I was there at CPAC when she said it.  My thinking was “we can only hope”.

                  Please understand that CPAC is a conservative conference.  Palin would have committed political suicide if she had said “well folks, barring a miracle from God, it appears that we will have a RINO as POTUS and speaking here in 2013 if we are lucky enough”  Gov. Palin isn’t stupid. She was trying to energize a conservative crowd for the fight of our lives. Also, the primaries at that point were not winding down. We had not even had Super Tuesday yet.

                  I really equate a statement like that to when a politician states that they believe they are going to win their primary and that the voters will be sending a real conservative to Washington, even if they are only 10% in the polls.  What are they really going to say?  I don’t see anyone saying “geez, there logistically no way I can pull this off by election day. There simply isn’t enough time nor enough money so you are really wasting your vote”.  Of course they are not going to answer that way.  People would stay home and it could affect other races in their state.

                  Gov. Palin was just as predictive when she ran and lost her Lt. Gov. race in AK.  She always spoke positively and confidently.  She was also positive, confident and predictive when she ran for VP with McCain.

                  If you know anything about Alaskan politics, then you know that NO politician gets anywhere without being shrewd.  You don’t have to be corrupt to be saavy and shrewd in politics.  Just how do you think that Gov. Palin got some almost unanimous votes on her bills from a Legislature that had been fiercely deadlocked on the issues up to that point.  It wasn’t by saying “pretty please”. 

                  In my opinion, God is the only infallible, absolute person who knows the future with certainty.  Unless Gov. Palin is a prophet or psychic, she can not with absolute certainty predict anything. Nor do I think she has attempted to do that.

                  Sometimes things are just a figure of speech and nothing more, like Don’t retreat, reload, WTF, Wee wee’d up, refudiate (which was proven to simply be a typo after much debate on C4P how it was intentional and brilliant) and Drill, baby drill (when clearly we know that she is an all of the above approach person but yet that saying makes no mention of that).  I don’t take all her figures of speech literally.  I never have and personally feel silly doing so but that is just me.

                  I understand that you truly see her statements as predictive.  Please understand that I do not see them that way and that does not make me less of a supporter or having less faith than you.  That could only be possible if I did think the statements were predictive and didn’t believe her.  I don’t think she was even attempting to predict the future with absolute certainty.  I just don’t interpret her statements that way and never have.

                  I also accept that my POV is just that, my POV. I have said before that there is validity to all viewpoints on this issue and no one absolute. I could make a case for all 3 points of view and against all 3 points of view.

                  I hope that answers your question.

    I am curious on sites, not this one, just got here,seen not one bad post here, but on other’s, people being paid to disrupt the talk on candidates. it is getting worse, to me it has to be true that certain groups infiltrate blogs. But some you see, is just people being head strong in opinion. They say in any election that traditionally, its not till after labor day that election talk heats up., yet we been putting up with this for awhile since January, worse the last few weeks  though.. imo

      IMO Romney has a group that like to infiltrate and disrupt.  We accept everyone’s point of view but I don’t allow Romney spamming or other candidates spamming.  It disrupts the board isn’t productive.  I will delete any troll and the subsequent comments (just because they no longer make sense).

      We just like to have fun here and talk politics and current events.

Nikki Haley, Pam Bondi just to name two. Am curious to early to tell, if they just did not end their own political careers.

      This just chaps me. He is trying to rush the implementation of it so that there is no turning back.  I think he assumes that the mandate will be struck down but not whole law and our wimpy Congress won’t have the guts to repeal the entire thing if most of it is already in force.

          exodus2011′s husband was a Navy corpsman with Marines in Vietnam.  When she told me that, I responded with a ‘squid’ comment, and he told her that he would “handle it.”  They seem like really decent people, and are on our side.

          Hey, my son was a squid and my “favorite nephew” Heather was a SeaBee squid.  The reason she is my favorite nephew is that she is more man than any of my other nephews.

        This clip apparently refers to whether Frank Murkowski, who was a United States senator for Alaska from 1981 until 2002 and governor of Alaska from 2002 to 2006, would run for re-election in 2006. Murkowski did run, but was defeated by Palin in the Republican primary. Palin ultimately became governor of Alaska in 2006 after defeating Democratic opponent Tony Knowles.
        The clip is attributed to the Anchorage Daily News, but an online search of the newspaper’s archives did not turn up any article that appeared to be relevant. A similar search of the Associated Press archive turned up nothing.
        So I wonder who got the tattoo, or if this is a fabrication — a fun but politically irrelevant one, at that. According to the terms of the bet, Sarah should be sporting a starry night on her ankle. Sarah spotters, jump in with a comment.

              From my perspective, some people are having a difficult time expressing their viewpoints without insulting people and some people aren’t accepting of differing points of view.  That isn’t a site problem that is the person who making the comments problem. 

              It shouldn’t be that hard in life to be nice to others.

                Firelight, I did not get to read VG1′s response to me before you edited it. So, can not really comment on what he said. But what I CAN say is that I have NEVER heard him be disrespectful. Even with all the upheaval over at C4P he has always been the calm voice in the storm.  And there has been plenty of upheaval!!

                Even with ample opportunity to do so, he has ALWAYS taken the middle road. A real model and a real leader!  A real Gentleman.

                With that said, I will not come back here either. In a couple of hours you edited a very respected member’s post. And felt the need to tell another, also respected member to not share her twitter posts.

    One of the reasons I post a lot over here is that this place is a LOT more accepting of divergent opinion about Palin and there is less toleration for Fanboiism and Cult of Personality. P4A got started in the summer of 2011 when it still looked as if Palin was going to run. There was a huge consensus over at C4P that if you questioned what Palin was doing (as I did, and rather stridently), you were somehow Questioning Sarah and Against Her.

    This could get you sent to Palin Gulag.

    Anyway, we all had our disagreements about what happened last year, but this site here was a breath of fresh air. Sheya and Firelight kept it going even after Palin pulled out, and it has been a refuge of reasoned conversation for me and others.

    As long as it’s kept that way, we’ll keep on keepin’ on.

    But let’s get one thing clear to the New People, and I suspect Firelight will insist on this: if people start up with the kind of ad hominem stuff we’ve seen practiced by both the Romneybot Infiltrators and the Palin2012Volksgrenadieren, I suspect Light will not hesitate to nuke people immediately, if not sooner. And she has people’s ISP’s, so it doesn’t do anyone any good to come back here under an assumed name. That’s how Light keeps the Pig Palace folks out. 

    What’s going on now over at C4P is, I suspect, a good old fashioned Blood Purge without Comrade Stalin. This has been some time in coming. This will play out, so let’s not have the gnashing of teeth about “freedom of speech”. This happens all the time at conservative political sites to make them look more acceptable to the larger Universal Set of the Conservative Web.

    Like it or not, some of C4P’s comment thread was starting to look to some degree like the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution along about 1967. That’s what Mr. L had been going on about, and in his own way, he has been trying to pull people back to the political reality of what is in this cycle and what probably will be after Romney either wins or loses this fall.

    We need to work with the election we have and deal in that reality, imho, and support the candidates that the Governor endorses. She hasn’t failed us in that regard yet, and is one of the  shrewdest judges of candidate quality I have seen in some time.

    JMHO, take it for what it’s worth.

      Yes, I think sometimes that people forget that C4P is a privately owned site and the editors are the owners.  They get to make their rules and decide the direction and tone of the site.

      Same here, this is my and a few others site and we get to choose the tone and set the rules.

      No worries, all are welcome if they play nice.  That has always been my motto.  I LOVE divergent opinions as long as they are respectful.  If someone can’t express an opinion without being disrespectful or stalking someone then they don’t get to stay and play. 

      So far, we have had very few problems.

            We are pretty accepting here and funny that we never have all these scuffles. 

            I think it is because we all know here that at the end of the day Palin and our country are in God’s hands. We did what we could, supported re-consider and voting rogue and there are many O4P state coordinators on this site who have worked their tails off but we are now so far into the primary process that we must hand it over to God.  His will be done and then we have to accept it and see what counsel he gives us and adventure he sends us on.

            I was always raised to know that when the drama follows you from place to place, you are likely the drama. 

            There are some people (not you Gelston) that need to ponder that concept.

              I lived in New England until I was 28 and then moved to Washington State. There is such a difference in the way people from different parts of the country approach a problem. I was thinking, in watching you, that you are a good example of a person from west of the mississippi, expecting people to get by on their actions and not their words.
              Part of the reason Mr. Romney does not seem to understand Ms. Palin is that they are from two different worlds. The same can be said for why people in New England have such different views on subjects
              I could explain that better, but it would take a book, and it would become very boring.

       At times, I think you are too judgmental about Sarah’s actions without you actually knowing why she does or doesn’t do something to your satisfaction, but you already know that. :-)   It’s as if you try to show us that your political instincts are superior to hers.  IMO, there’s a difference between disagreeing with her on her opinion or on one of her issue positions and casting uninformed judgment upon her actions or lack thereof.  But hey, that’s just me.

        I don’t like living in a GOP in which Mitt Romney is our nominee. And yet, he is our nominee. Don’t blame me for having pointed out the obvious to you last year. A lot of people tried to run me off C4P for warning that what eventually did happen, could happen. 

        Sarah Palin is a human being who makes mistakes. She made her share of them last year. However, she also had other reasons for not running which we’ll have to respect. That leaves us stuck with Looter 1 vs. Looter 2. That’s what you get with no Palin in the race: The Lesser of Two Looters.

          I guess it depends on whether you define “mistake” as something you thought she should have/should not have done.  I’m not so arrogant to believe that I can judge anyone’s actions without knowing the details including what might have gone into the decision-making process.  I’m curious as to what “her share of mistakes” were, in your opinion.  Of course, if you want to respond, feel free to let us know why you deem them “mistakes”.  Do you know her decision-making process?  Do you know if she had certain contingency plans based on something happening which was out of her direct control? Do you really have enough knowledge of her game plan to make such a judgmental claim?  

          Who knows, maybe she did make some actual mistakes, or more likely, her plan was based on certain factors which she and her real advisors developed strategies and tactics which could have resulted in her pulling the trigger, or as it turned out, in her deciding not to run.

    I hope my presence and occasional comment will be accepted. I love the Lord and believe in His power. I am completely convinced that Sarah Palin is one of the only politicians that could restore this country to following the constitution and stop the greed and lawlessness of so many in congress. I do get discouraged at what is happening. I was brought up not to lie and to be honest. It is so sad to see what has been happening the last 4 years. I have read everything Sarah has written and find very little to disagree with. I do not know what is a head but I am praying (thy will be done) for a miracle that Sarah ends up becoming our president

      I believe in miracles too and I pray everyday that she will be President but I have also accepted that God’s timing may not be my timing.  If his timing isn’t 2012, then I must trust him even if I don’t understand or agree.

      There are basically 3 schools of thought:
      1. she has a secret plan
      2. pray for a miracle but understand that it isn’t likely
      3. accept her no she gave on Oct. 5th

      We have all 3 viewpoints on this board.  I fall into #2.

      What we don’t do is fight over it.  There is validity to each and every point and since no one knows God’s plan, it is pointless for us to fight over it.

      Thank you for that, luckypenny4freedom.  One of the biggest problems that people have had, even those who consider themselves supporters of Mrs. Palin is they do not understand those 4 words from the Lord’s Prayer…  THY WILL BE DONE.

      I believe Mrs. Palin said that and followed what she believed to be the answer when she made her decision.  She opened her heart to the will of her God and followed it.

      After all, whether we accept it or not that will, not mine will be done.

    HOLLY CRAP!!! If you could ever offer up a prayer…Now would be a great time.  The western portion of Colorado Springs is now under MANDATORY Evacuation as a fire is burning near the Garden of the Gods.  You can follow me on twitter @juryrigged.  It was scary here for awhile but fire is moving north.  I am currently only about 4 miles from it to the SE.  I am house sitting for 2 homes in the same neighborhood.  Will be here for about the next 2-3 weeks.  If the fire jumps the highway and heads this direction…there is nothing but High Volume Fuel. 
     
    I house sit for a few folks that have packed and gone.  Can we call upon Elizabeth Warren to call her Indian Ancestors and do a freakin rain dance?  Folks…it has never been this bad.  I am truly scared!         Just had the neighbor knock on the door.  He has really no place to go. I told him he can come home with me…should there be a fire in my area.  The current fire is moving north and we are not in harms way.  The herd of Fire Equipment that just drove up the canyon…has me worried.  I don’t see any smoke..but you don’t get that much equipment up a hill that fast for no reason!

        These are million plus dollar homes…someone is doing this on purpose!

    Fire update…it started about noon and has now moved in 2000 plus acres.  Steep hills..A large chunk of Colorado Springs and it’s recreation/tourism area effected.  Hard to fight and dry explosive fuel!

    The fire nearer to me was a small grass fire and has been controlled.  UGH!  This is not good.  4 families that I know have packed and left their homes. This is going to be a long few weeks of worry for me being were I am now located! 

    I seriously want the first shot to the MF doing this arson crap!

    OH Crap! All of Manitou Springs Now under MANDATORY EVAC! We are talking Historic now! There has only been one other fire EVER to hit Colorado Springs..and that was the Ft. Carson fire back in the 1950′s.  My Mom lived through that one.  Pray!

      I saw that on the news.  Estes Park is on fire too and so far 20 homes have been destroyed.  I feel like our whole state is on fire. They said that most appear to be started by arson.  All on the same day?   What is going on?

    Men always want to offer solutions at a time of trouble.
    WA State does have some good laws. One allows the governor to assume control of all municipal fire departments in the event of an emergency.
    There was a 200 square mile fire about ten years ago near lake Chelan. (which you all should visit.) That was the only time this law was used. My local, tiny fire department was sent 200 miles and stationed at a house or houses to protect them.
    If your state does not have a similar law, it is one you might consider suggesting.

    laying here under the kitchen table the Palin-loving chihuahua sips a mojito. what in the world happened? many of became excited when Sarah was announced as our candidate. finally we had a voice. yes we lost, but Sarah, through thick and thin brought us through. Finally when the bus tour started our spirits joined as one, and we readied for the upcoming election. october 5, hope came crashing down. Sarah reloaded. rush sold tea and hannity threw down his football, grabbed some pom poms and became romneys cheerleader.

    so now we are adrift. apparently no home. yes friends. we do have a home. its with each other. i have your back, i know you have mine, and fer darn tootin’ Sarah’s too.

    So no matter what happens to each of us individually on one blog or another. continue on.

    So far so good here.  We are worried about flying embers as they can travel a long ways.  If the fire does happen to spread down into the Cedar Heights subdivion…It will burn fast and there are about 250 upper end homes there.  I will pack up and go home at that point as that is just too close for comfort.  Actually saw flame last night from here as fire topped well over 100ft in the air. New fire just broke out NE of Colorado Springs in a small town of Elbert.  They are now evacuating that town.  Keep the prayers coming.  Colorado is burning!

    So the Rick Scott story mentions that so far he hasn’t been invited to speak on the program at the convention–only at some little welcoming event there.

    That’s enough to make you wonder what invitation might or might not have been delivered up to Wasilla by now.

      Exactly!!  Scott is the Gov. of the hosting state. He has accomplished much and many people like him.  He is, however, NOT part of the Bush machine with is why this story was planted to begin with.

      If the GOPe is so rude as to minimize the hosting Gov. (yet they will want his help in delivering the state… oh the irony) just what will they do to our favorite Alaskan?

        This should surprise no one. Scott ran against McCollum and whipped his ass in a primary, then beat the Dem for Governor. McCollum was the Bushie  who was going to be Jeb’s boy in Tallahassee. The GOP hasn’t forgiven Scott for that. Nor have they forgotten that he called her in for a fundraiser last year. Don’t be surprised if he is given an afternoon slot on the graveyard shift.

        Palin won’t be allowed to speak at all. Period. 

        Get used to that.

Get used to that.” I thought one of the reasons that Sarah Palin rented the motel about 3 blocks away was so she could speak and not sit down and shut up.

      Mitt’s also upset for Gov. Scott touting improved job performance in Florida because Mitt thinks it makes Obama look good. I wouldn’t be surprised if he asked Gov. Walker to do the same now that the recall elections are over. It’s sadly how he operates, and it will also make the convention a snooze fest if he and the RNC continue this way.

        The enabling GOPe yes men and women, to stay in the good graces of the presumptive nominee, assure their man the truth can be suppressed without anyone noticing. It doesn’t matter, anyhow, everyone knows Romney will defeat Obama. It has become conventional wisdom. And we all know how accurate that can be.

        I saw that about Mitt.  I don’t understand his line of thinking.  If anything, Romney should be touting how successful and how each state is either turning around or faring better when there is a Republican as Governor. That would case the case stronger that we need a Republican in the White House.  The statistic prove that states with Dem Governors are not doing as well as states with Republican governors.  I really don’t get the whole “it makes Obama look good” line of thinking.

        I personally think it boils down to the fact that Scott and Walker’s records highlight and reveal just how bad Mitt’s record in MA was. I think it is his ego talking and I wish his ego would STFU because it is making him look even worse.  That is the only logical reason I can think of for him doing this.

        I am sorry, Firelight but I don’t know how to send a page. However, I believe I went to Palin 4 America and C4P was listed 3rd from the top. Even I can “do the alphabet.” I think I originally used to type in C4P and they were always listed at the top of the page, whereas, when I went to
        Palin for America, C4p was listed as #3 and Palin for America was not even there. Gosh, I hope this makes some sense.

    In my opinion, Sarah Palin is right.

    Firstly, I agree that she calls “them” the Lamestream Media. I can think of far worse! ! ! !

     Secondly, I wouldn’t endorse “him” either. To think, that this same woman who says, “bless his heart” can also say “W.T.F.” I can think of far worse than W.T.F. when talking about “him.”

     Thirdly, the dream lives on, thanks to this site and I have nothing but good things to say about the site. Thank you for allowing me to be part of the discussion on Palin for America.
