Thunder Up Thursday

Morning everyone!

I’m still drinking my tea and I like it strong!!  We have a lot of work ahead to do for November but Tuesday was still great.  Walker’s win should give other conservative Governors confidence to make the bold reforms so many states desperately need.  I say should because I’m not sure the establishment “got it”.

How about that game last night?  I’m born and raised in Oklahoma City and I could not be any prouder of them last night. Great game, great display to the country of the quality people in Oklahoma and just plain fun to watch.  I love OKC and love seeing so many friends and family on TV in crowd shots during the game. Best fans ever in the NBA!  Congrats Thunder!!  Flyover country is proud to be represented with so much class.

Quick news roundup:

Finally, someone gets it

I hope they catch him

This completely crosses the line…

From your lips to God’s ears…

We need more like him

At what point is this treason?…

Crosses my fingers, toes and everything else… we need reform

That’s because he is no Scott Walker… he is not a conservative and WI knows it…

This is just cool…

Have a great day everyone!!  Do something nice for someone else today.

Thank you, Mrs. Firelight for yet another excellent roundup.  Yer dogie handlin’ skills are apparent.

Lincoln’s doctor ordered brandy.  I had a doctor give me 2 shots of Old Crow when I was a teenager.  Of course he had a couple with me.  It was only minor surgery and his nurse went ballistic because I was underage, but it was and is one of the most positive impressions of medicos I will ever have.

“Gandhi once said that if all those doomed people at Hiroshima had lifted their faces to the plane that hovered over them and if they had sent up a single sigh of spiritual protest, the pilot would not have dropped his bomb.”

Let us now gather in spirit to release groans and shouts of spiritual protest, that the truth may prevail in this great country again.

    Good morning!

Congrats to the Thunder. I played basketball growing up and all through high school, but I’ve never been much of a NBA fan. I prefer watching college basketball. I have watched some of the OKC-Spurs games.  Last week, at the first game in OKC, OK Gov. Mary Fallin, whom Gov. Palin endorsed in 2010, was on the pregame show. One of the commentators asked her if she prayed for the Thunder like someone prays for rain, especially after OKC had lost the first two games. Gov. Fallin replied that the Spurs were the ones who were going to need the prayers! Ha!

She and the legislative black caucus in OK gave Charles Barkley some boots with his initials on them too. :)

    Romney congratulated Walker. . . .

When Sarah congratulated Walker, if it wasn’t like a teacher to student thing, it was at least recognition from a peer.

Romney congratulating Walker was like – I’m glad you did the job I would never have the courage to do.

Going by how they governed so far, I would take a president Walker over a president Romney any day. We need somebody with the courage to make, and tenacity to follow through, on the tough decisions.

Mitt’s excuse for governing as a progressive was that he was in a progressive state. Walker didn’t make excuses, he just did what was right, even though it would be a tough fight, and even though it could hurt him politically.

If Romney can not make tough decisions at the state level, how can anyone think he’ll make them at the national level?

In the linked story about the White House leaks of classified security information, there is this:

“I just can’t believe that there’s a decision in any kind of a formal way to leak this kind of a thing,” Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin (D-Mich.) said on Tuesday.”

Of course the leaks aren’t based on a formal decision by the White House.  There is no memo somewhere detailing the intent to leak classified info.   But that doesn’t mean the White House hasn;t given tacit permission to leak.
