Weekend Edition: No Dingbats Allowed! – Updated

We made it to the weekend everyone!

What a week! We had the Utah primary, Colorado fires, SCOTUS AZ and Obamatax, 3 great interviews by Gov. Palin and a renewed sense to fight from the Tea Party.

If you haven’t seen Gov. Palin’s interviews from last night, they are must see TV.  The fact that she called Nancy Pelosi a dingbat with a dead serious face was pure awesomeness.

I hope everyone has some great plans this weekend to unwind and relax after such a roller coaster of a week.  We are taking the kids and my parents to the mountains for the weekend.  It has been incredibly hot here this week. I don’t think we have had a day under 100 degrees here in Denver and I could use some cooler weather and a good hike!

Please keep praying for the continued progress our firefighters are making here in Colorado and the continued prayers for Bestbud.

    Mitt is not Obama. He is ABO. That is why many support him.
    He may even win the presidency largely by that one attribute – ‘Not Obama.’

    I think the amount of corruption in our presidential nomination process, can be measured as the difference between Mitt and Sarah, in character, fortitude, right principles, leadership abilities, a true servant’s heart, and all other attributes of a great president.  Yes, THAT much corruption.

    Sudden and relentless reform must also come to the nomination process before a true reformer can be elected president.

    Good Weekend P4A Kids…

    Gov. Palin rocked it on Hannity. ”Dingbat” was a bit too nice IMHO…but there are two letters in DingBat..that represent a term I would perhaps used…Dumb B**ch!!!!  But that is just me!  I am not as nice as Gov. Palin. Yes I do have the ability to recognize my weakness! Pelosi…and those who continue to vote for her are Dumb A-holes!

    The map of destroyed homes with addresses came out today.  The home that sits above my friends was destroyed as were about 8 that I know I have personally appraised.  There may be more..but I had to quit looking. When you live in other peoples homes and take care of their properties…you get to know the landscape and the neighbors. I know what I am feeling tonight and that is shell shocked.  I can only imagine what those who lost family and homes are feeling.

    On the bright side…we have the yearly monsoon moving in next week or so they say. Just give us a day of rain…and that will make a large difference! 

    Obama was in town.  I did have to laugh because at the 4pm media briefing…the Incident Commander sort of slipped in his comments and stated that they had had only one “interruption” from the fire fighting…and that was Obama! He looked a tad annoyed!

    Anyway…I hope you all have a safe weekend!  I am going to call on those with Native American Blood…(my 1/8) and Elizabeth Warren’s (1/32) and all those in between to do a rain dance! Is that wrong? ;)

    Good Saturday morning all.

    Whenever there is an article about Governor Palin on websites such as Politico, Mediaite, or even Hot Air, some PDSer usually shows up and launches the grifter meme or tries to ridicule Sarah’s followers who support SarahPAC financially.  Without fail, they roll out the criticism that SarahPAC doesn’t contribute vast amounts of money to candidates.  They complain about the money spent on mailings, travel, advisory/operational personnel and other related expenses.

    Sarah’s support for a candidate cannot be measured by SarahPAC’s monetary contribution to that candidate. Ask any candidate who has been endorsed by Sarah, and you’ll probably  hear that the check SarahPAC sent them was nice, but that it was the least important part of her endorsement.  When Sarah endorses a candidate, the candidate’s phones start ringing with people who want to volunteer their time to help the candidate.  When Sarah endorses a candidate, the candidate’s website sees a huge influx of donations.  When Sarah endorses a candidate, polls see a shift in favor of that candidate.

    We know that Sarah is a force.  Compare what happens when Sarah speaks versus what happens when a Rove or any other political operative speaks.  There is no comparison. When Sarah speaks, people listen.  When word comes down that Sarah will make an appearance on TV, people start anticipating that appearance and people make a mental note to be sure to watch her.  The Twitterverse lights up before, during and after she writes or says anything. When Sarah speaks, lefty websites go into overdrive to flood the intertubes with stupid articles about “that woman”.

    Yes, Sarah is a force, but she is much more than that.  In military terms, Sarah is what’s called a Force Multiplier.  That’s why her endorsements are so effective.   That’s why the left works so hard to discredit her.  That why the media writes voluminous articles to convince their readers that she’s irrelevant. That’s why the Left knows that Sarah Palin must be destroyed if they are to get their way.

    Sarah isn’t the only person who can talk about small efficient government.  Sarah isn’t the only person whose principles are grounded in constitutional conservatism. Sarah isn’t the only person who has a record of responsible governance.  Sarah  is, however, the only person who speaks for us, not to us or at us.  Sarah is of us.   

    Force Multiplier.  That’s the best way I can describe Sarah Palin.

      I have to be honest here.  I watched the first episode and I too walked away. The entire premise of the show…IMHO was WRONG.  The very title..”Life’s a Tripp” has intended meaning leaving you with expectation.  The whole first show was about whining,  Not something the Palin family is known for.  It was no Tripp to watch and it frankly bored me. 

      But that is just my humble 0.02 cents!

         Your 0.02 may be humble, but it’s mostly right.  IMO, each of the four episodes contained about five minutes of anything interesting.  The production, as a whole, was pretty bad and whoever did the editing should be barred for life from working in television.  Face it, without our interest in the Palin’s, who here would think the show is anything other than a stinker?

        What I saw were two sisters who set out on an adventure that offered a little excitement, but who quickly came to the conclusion that it wasn’t as good as being at home.  Bristol’s and Willow’s interactions were pretty typical of kids their age, sometimes they liked each other, sometimes they disliked each other, but in the end, they no doubt love each other.  With the exception of their brief stay at the mansion, the premise was typical of many young people in similar circumstances.

        I won’t judge Bristol’s decision to do this show because I haven’t seen the list of pro’s and con’s she and probably her parents discussed before she signed on.  I have no idea how much money was dangled in front of her, but since she wasn’t asked to do anything illegal, immoral, or otherwise distasteful, I applaud her for having the guts to try it.  You know that she knew she’d get a lot of negative response, no matter the quality of the show.  It could have been the greatest show ever and the PDSers would have acted no differently.

        Some Palin supporters view Bristol’s decisions through a prism of her Mother’s potential political future.  While that may be understandable, it’s not really fair to expect Bristol to make decisions based on her Mother’s aspirations. I look at it this way. If Todd and Sarah didn’t have a problem with it, from a parental advisement viewpoint, who am I to judge?

        Would Bristol have been given the opportunity if she wasn’t the daughter of Sarah Palin?  No, but she sure wouldn’t have been subjected to all of the crap flung her way if she wasn’t her Mother’s daughter either.

        I hope Bristol pockets the money, spends it well, invests it well, and continues to build a good life for herself and Tripp.  What more can be asked of her?

    Guys, I had promised myself to try and stay away from politics this weekend, but I went ahead and read some articles on this ACA issue, and I kept seeing this one argument that drives me nuts, so I thought I go ahead and post my thoughts to get it off my chest.

    Here is the thing I find so bizarre: citing polls that people like some aspects of ACA like no denial of coverage for pre-existing conditions, no annual or lifetime caps on coverage, etc., but don’t ike other aspects.

    Well, duh!

    Say someone came up to me with the following two-point proposition:

    1) We’re sending over a chauffeur to take you and your wife to the fanciest restaurant in town for a steak and lobster dinner with all the fixings and a bottle of the finest red wine and champagne on hand (oh, and we’ll arrange a great movie night for your daughter, etc., etc.) and then put you up in a fancy hotel for the night, and don’t worry about the bill.

    2) Don’t worry about the bill, but $10,000 will be deducted from your savings account.

    Now, they ask me: Do you like Proposition (1)? Well, sure. What about (2)? Not so much.

    How is that different than these poll responses, where people say (1) yeah, sure, I like all that stuff, but (2) no, I don’t like paying for it? Then to analyze that as meaning “some aspects are popular”?! What am I missing?

    Non-Romney received 8.9 million votes.

    Since Utah voted, the popular voting is closed from coast to coast.

        I don’t know all the by-laws and precedents for the RNC. I’ve read that the state parties cannot legally “bind” their delegates to the RNC because these are all separate associations and the Constitution protects our “freedom of association”.

        I’m sure that the final nominee doesn’t have to get “every vote”!

        Nobody knows what will happen in Tampa, not even Ron Paul…

          From what I understand, the issue is structured very much like our state vs federal government.
          The national RNC won’t tell the states what to do. They don’t recognize or not recognize the “bound” issue. They are neutral.  They have no requirements because it is a state GOP issue. They leave it up to each state GOP organization to decide for themselves what is expected and what the rules are for their own delegates.

          So while the national RNC considers each delegate a “free agent”, the state GOP negotiates, brokers and sets their own rules for what their delegates will do.

          So to claim each delegate is free to do what they want is naive and incorrect. Each delegate is bound by their own state’s rules and some states have extensive rules and some do not.

            So what is the substance of the pending Paulbot lawsuit? Is that lawsuit restricted to one or a few state parties or is it broadly to do with “voting one’s conscience”?

              The lawsuit itself is claiming the RNC intervened in the nominating process by helping Romney win. They are pointing to advice given, deadlines changed, primary dates moved, threats etc…

              Also, the legal filing, which names Priebus and the GOP chairmen in every STATE as
              defendants, “seeks the guidance of the court” on whether the plaintiffs
              are free to break with certain STATE party rules and vote for the
              candidate of their choice at the August convention.

              According to the complaint, however, the RNC and affiliated STATE GOP
              leaders systematically “engaged in a scheme to intimidate and harass”
              delegates supporting candidates other than Romney during the nomination
              process.

              This “harassment,” the suit alleges, included numerous violations of
              party rules, threats of violence, ballot tampering at state conventions
              and “intimidating demands” that delegates sign affidavits promising to
              vote for Romney.

              I think it boils down to the Paulbots wanting the RNC to release the states of their own rules but it really doesn’t work that way. The RNC can’t tell the states what rules to place on their delegates specifically.  They can’t even pick the primary dates. They can only set certain rules that don’t overstep the state’s right to decide for themselves.

              I also think they want the world to know what dirty deeds the RNC/Romney camp are doing to try and tilt the race toward Mittens.  The Paulbots don’t like the favoritism Mittens has gotten from the RNC.

              I think the lawsuit will be interesting but the RNC can’t force the state’s to release delegates.

                                                             Another Theory

     Did not Sarah Palin say something like,” If I enter the “race,” I’m in it to win it.” Well, I think Sarah Palin is absolutely right. I guess when she read the tea (leaves, leafs) after all, ” (poles,polls) are just for strippers and cross- country skiers,” again, I believe, Sarah Palin is correct. 

    In fact, other than this site and a few others, do not many of the American people treat Sarah Palin with disdain? Does it not take over 50 million votes to win an American Presidential Campaign?

    Well, I have said it before, ” I would crawl on broken glass to vote for Sarah Palin.” Also, as part of my theory, I believe Sarah Palin must be walking on broken glass. The mother of five, the grandmother of two and for many of us the mother of the “free world.”

    Let us not also forget, that Sarah Palin said something like, ” she would be willing to serve, if we asked her.” My biggest question, in this theory is can Sarah Palin garner enough votes to win it?

    As part of my theory, perhaps, the “earthquake” started this week with the ruling from The S.C.O.T.U.S. As Pete says,” there is no candidate yet and we all have to wait for the convention.”

    Before I finish, allow me to thank Firelight and others for letting me express my thoughts. Also, are we the people, ” up for the challenge.?” If we make, Sarah Palin, ” The people’s candidate” are we willing to do our part? I think the answer to that question is YES and let us not forget:

                               1- ” God works in mysterious ways.”
                               2- ” Hope springs eternal.”
                               3- ” It’s not over ’til it’s over.”

      Dual, I think you hit the nail on the head.  I have no doubt that Palin could easily win the GOP nomination.  I do think we have work to do on the general populace.  I think more people like her than most realize but there is still much work to do to correct the record with the center left/center right part of America.

        Thank you very much for your response, Firelight. Okay, I believe that, Sarah Palin, could easily win the GOP nomination.

         However, can Sarah Palin win the general election, as the “peoples candidate” IF we the people are willing to correct the record? Are we willing to do the work required? Sarah Palin said something like, ” I am in it to win it.” I totally agree! !  Mrs. Palin also said something like,” I am willing to serve, if the people want me.” I believe this takes more than Sarah Palin. It takes Sarah Palin and the people. I think the trllion dollar question is “Are we willing to put forth the effort to get Sarah Palin elected or are we just keyboarders?”

        My opinion is I don’t think Mitt Romney can win. I say this for many reasons, the least of which is ” Mitt Romney does not have the fire in the belly.” I have said it before, ” I wouldn’t go across the street to vote for Mitt Romney.”
        As you said, Firelight, ” What about the swing states?” Quite a predicament, in which we find ourselves. All the more reason for us to do our part, to support the “peoples candidate.”

          Hi 99Dual99Citizan99, imho the health care ruling by the Chief Justice Roberts might have galvanized the folks to put their differences aside to realize the urgency and need to defeat Obama. If Romney sticks to the main issue of Jobs and not get side tracked in slight back handed personal attacks on the Governor and leave the rest up to the folks, imho I think he will win.

          Romney needs only to talk all day long about Jobs, Jobs, Jobs and how the health care ruling will affect the economy and if he was really smart and buck the establishment he could ask the Governor to help him, I know, I know, that is like handling snakes for the Governor.

        I agree Firelight “I do think we have work to do on the general populace” also on the media and political pundits especially on the GOP side that tries to perpetuate their false Palin narrative.

        If these GOP strategist and so called intellectual thinkers would be honest in holding the GOP nominees accountable to their record their actions and the relation to their words instead of their bigoted small minded assumptions then the Governor would trash Obama in the General Election, but instead its left up to the good folks like C4P, TRS, P4A and the other thousands of Palin sites, Breitbart etc… to stand and speak to truth, and you are winning, what happened in 2010 will look like child’s play come November 2012 even with Romney as the nominee.

        Washington needs sudden and relentless reform NOW!, the opportunity so seldom comes along in that person, the character of servant to lead, guess I have to wait a little longer for the Governor.

    Today is the first week of the rest of the new campaign season.  The court ruliing has changed the game. What we know now is Obamacre will happen unless stoped. The top priority is not simply replacing Obama with ABO, but electing an adminstration that is ready, willling, and able to stop this awefull thing from going forward. As others including Rush have noted, the question is can Romney do it.   My answer is I wouldn’t bet the farm on it.This is the moment that a conservative leader needs to pick up the mantle and save our country and families from a future that doesn’t work.Who will that be?

      Another question is, will Romney do it?

      I judge politicians lately, not so much by their capabilities, but by what they decided to do with those capabilities. An extremely capable scumbag does us no good. A less capable person with right principles, fortitude, and a servant’s heart, will at least do us some good.

      I aim higher, but would take this second person of good character over the first any day.

    Good Sunday Morning P4A Kids…

    Well good news for some from the fire scene.  My friends just got back into their home and all is as they left it.  They lost nothing even down to the food in the refrigerator.  Power was still on.  They were lucky.   Behind them is a ridge and homes above them are gone.  They were some pretty big homes.  I appraised two homes less than a block from them and those homes are gone.  Hopefully they will be able to move back to their home by Tuesday.  They are just there for the day.

    Friend said that they had the carpets cleaned just a day or two before the fire and they still smell like they were cleaned yesterday.  UNREAL!  They were lucky.  I think a lot of prayer helped as well. 

    News from the Flying W Ranch…they did manage to evacuate all the horses…had no time to get the cows out.  All the cows have been located and only one has some burning to the utter.  

    Bears are now occupying the town of Green Mountain Falls…so as the folks go back home today…they may have unexpected company.  I really can’t leave the dogs out here for too long because of the critters that have moved from the fire zone down into this area. 

    Maybe now I can catch up on some news….and sleep!

    1) I believe Canada is a centre left society and the U.S. is a centre right society.

    2) It is my belief, it is up to The S.C.O.T.U.S. to uphold the American Constitution. They are not to be activists.

    3) I think in the U.S. and Canada, one of our biggest antagonists is the media.

    4) Lastly, you know how to tell a Canadian? “We are the only people in the world, who say thank you to our bank machines.” “Living next to the U.S.is like sleeping with an elephant, God help you if it turns over.” Happy July 4th to Sarah Palin and all of the American patriots.
