Light It Up Thursday

Good Morning Peeps!

I’ve got my s’mores ready just in case I see a flicker or a small flame of excitement from Romney…  I’ve also got a bic lighter too just in case…

Gov. Palin will be on Greta’s show tonight.  I’ll post the video as soon as it is up.  I did receive word from the Americans For Prosperity Michigan office that they will not be live streaming or providing an embed for Gov. Palin’s speech on Saturday.  I am now checking into CSPAN and I do know that we have an O4P person who can possibly Ustream the speech.  I want to see it as much as all of you so I will do what I can to find a way for us to watch it together if possible.

Now I’m off to clean house as my hubby has an old friend coming up for the weekend.  Funny, I don’t remember him cleaning for me when my old friends come to visit… hmmmmm

P.A.R.T.Y.  Hell Ya!!  I’ve been telling peeps who have kids to move their keisters to my district… this mama grizzly is proud!  (Nancy6 and I were at the author’s house awhile back for some caucus training that John’s wife does, John also lives in our district, hence the article).

What’s the rush?  Geez, he’s only had 7 years… give the man some space…

    Mitt spoke better than I expected at the NAACP yesterday. If he starts doing it consistently for a very long time he might even convince me. . . but I’m not betting on it.

    Real or not, it may be good. Sarah often praises the good that people have done, even people with other general beliefs.

    I think Sarah would love to talk positively about what Mitt has said or done, and she is the best at separating the deed from the doer, and praising the good words or deed. But he has to give her material to work with.

    If she says ABO, she’ll help ABO, but only if she can, because I don’t see her bearing false witness.
    (Also, Mitt should be thankful that Barrack is soooooooooooooooo bad, and so easy to make most of a speech against.)

    (Personally, I’d like the GOP faces to call off all the attacks meant to diminish Sarah, and to treat her fairly. Not even biased for her, just in comparison with others Republicans – the same. This should not be too much to expect.  But that is just my opinion.)

      The establishment is just that, they are snakes in the grass and can never be trusted. What Romney did was one act, it’s not about trust he cannot be trusted, always vigilant.

      Why thank you Cru!

      I got to thinking that the fastest way to light the base’s hair on fire was for someone to light a fire under Mitt’s arse and get him moving.  The attack Mitt from the primaries has been missing since be became the presumptive nominee. 

      I’m with you Cru, this is war and Romney is hiding in a bunker trying to play nice while his people are still attacking the wrong target (see Sununu). That’s not a recipe for winning.

    I still fight the melancholy sometimes after watching Sarah speak. . . .

    Someday I may have grandchildren, and may tell them about the anti-election of 2012.

    And the hard part will not be about how or why the race played out with the majority of people voting against the other guy (instead of ‘for’ one). The hard part will be explaining, in what was such an important contest, why we played Mutton, and kept Barracudas Maximus on the bench.

      The ‘Constitution State’ should live up to it’s great name. Our founders risked all to give it to us.
      It appears our current rulers . . . er, public servants . . . see the Constitution as more of an obstacle than a precious gift.

      I understand we used to vote for Republicans in our state – just not necessarily uncorrupt ones.
      I would love to help remedy this.

    Good morning all! That Doors’ song was going through my head all day yesterday. :)

    I think when Paul Ryan mentions 85% of Obamacare being repealed is a procedural thing. Through a reconciliation process only 85% of the bill can be repealed because that’s the percentage of the bill that is fiscal. I think using reconciliation can only be regarding budgetary/tax issues, if I remember right. With reconciliation, though, it only requires a simple majority (51 votes in the Senate), and it can’t be filabustered. Hopefully the GOP can get a majority of seats in the Senate so that they can at least do reconciliation.  It would take a filabuster proof majority (60 Senators) to get full repeal through, which is quite a tall task.

    All that said, we still have to hold them accountable to do what they said they were going to do–repeal Obamacare–and not make excuses.

      Yes, I think you are right on the reconciliation part. I actually heard Ryan explain it on one of the shows late last night. It’s still not 100% but it is a start and would basically kill it.

    Back in January, I said that the economy will get worse and worse this year.
    Warren Buffet looks at the world through the viewpoint of how he can make himself richer. Nonetheless, his comments on CNBC today are worth reading.
    Europe is collapsing – he said it would be better in ### 10 years ###. <————- TEN
    i will add this:
    LIBOR is becoming a bigger and bigger scandal which will go all the way to 1600 Penna Ave.
    Obama is continuing to cook the books on employment numbers.
    Australia is starting to decline along with China.
    Cities in CA (but not Yaydirt, CA, as yet) are entering bankruptcy.
    Mr. Obama's socialist approach, no matter what anyone thinks of socialism, is a disaster for our economic challanges.
    I am one of the few, I believe, that thinks Sarah was smart enough not to run because she saw this. Understand what you can fix and what you can't.
    Pain is a great motivator. People, who don't trust her now, will follow her and believe in her even more strongly when the pain is on their doorstep.

      It has never worked. Not one time. People always eventually run out of other people’s money.
      It is the root of Europe’s, and the USA’s, current fiscal problems.

      Another big problem with socialism, is that it does not work well with liberty either. 
      Everyone has to stay in line for it to even work in theory.  Note Obamacare.

        what I was trying to say is that starting Social Security in the middle of the 1930′s is more likely to get off the ground than starting Socialized Medicine in the middle of an increasing, worldwide collapse which, at this time, appears to be unstoppable.
        Even Warren Buffet says that this will take ten years to melt away. Ten years of hardship is going to change the mindset of many people around the world.

          I agree with you that this socialized healthcare is worse. At least social security doesn’t lead to death panels.

          But socialist ideas, like social security, don’t typically have a problem getting off the ground. They seem to never have a problem at that point. But social security is running out of other peoples money – I believe we are already into our grandchildren’s money, maybe our great grandchildren.

          It is just not right that we spend their money on ourselves, and then leave them with the bill.

          I hope years from now, as they pay for what we spent on ourselves, we will at least be known as the first generation to turn this socialist idea around and stop spending their money, and start working to help leave them with less of our debt.

    As painful as it is for me to say, I do have to give Romney credit for speaking at the NAACP and not pandering. That’s the kind of courage Palin was talking about. I’m not going to hold my breath for this to continue though.

    It’s a bit perplexing that President Obama–the first black president going to for re-election–isn’t speaking at the NAACP meeting because he’s “too busy”. What? It’ll be *interesting* to hear what Biden will say though.

    The Teacher’s Union article is a very good read. How do people like Brenda Smith show their face in public they have no shame what so ever. I hope this happens in November as it did in 2010 and by all accounts it will “taxpayers staged a revolt in 2009 in Douglas County throwing out union-friendly board members and voting in a reform-minded slate of candidates

    Reading the Cato article I kept thinking if you had smarter people writing Obamacare could it be harder to render it not workable than the States just not implementing the exchanges?

    Sarah just marched right into Florida and waded right into the 7th CD bloodletting between John Mica and Sandy Adams.

    Of course, she endorsed the insurgent Adams, and gave Jeb and his friend, Governor Marmalarde, both of whom are backing Mica (who is the Transport Committee Chair in the House and a Boehner Trusty) a swift kick in the jewels with her best high-top stilletos.

    She just poked the entire Florida State Party Apparat right in the eye, from Jeb on down.

    There will be blood. 

    And negative ads. And if there isn’t a Palin appearance down here after this endorsement, I will want to know the reason why, because you can bet that Mica is going to get on the phone looking for some suits to show up for him from D.C.. He wants that Big Nascar-Themed Fundraiser in Daytona with His Mitness.

    Anybody remember the moronic and now forgotten “Listening Tours” promoted by the GOP Establishment and featuring hacks like Mitt Romney,Eric Cantor, Kevin McCarthy,Jeb Bush, and John Boehner and they did this while Sarah Palin was left for dead in AK after 2008. Those people didn’t do squat and accomplishment a damn thing with the Listening Tours it took Sarah Palin resigning her Governorship and becoming the leader of Conservatives in America. Palin was discarded and left for dead right after the election. The GOP probably nominated the stupidity of the Listening Tour while screwing over the Tea Party.
