World Games Weekend Edition – UPDATED

Good morning all!

How about that speech last night?  Ted Cruz is one blessed guy.  She really gave one heck of a stump speech for him.

The opening ceremony at the Olympics was interesting.  I won’t say it was my favorite but it was different.  I always like to see all the countries together on one world stage in an setting such as the Olympics.  It’s fun, it’s festive and a great experience for my kids to see how different each county is during the parade of nations.

We got three tweets from Gov. Palin last night after her speech:

Stopped by Chick-fil-A in The Woodlands to support a great business.
and
Great to visit with the Sassy Feet dance squad at the Chick-fil-A in The Woodlands, TX.
and

This is the great speech by Dan Bongino I mentioned today at the Ted Cruz rally in Texas. http://fb.me/1PeFci08V

Headlines:
Bristol is returning to DWTS to compete on the All Stars show…
Nice write up from a TX O4P volunteer on her speech…
So this week our DOJ told a private company this and a court told our DOJ this
No treaty for now…
Steve nails it…
Shocker:  The ACLU of Illinois defends Chick-Fil-A…
Could this be the VP shortlist?  Any surprises?
WTH?  Can we just vote Junior out in November and not have to worry about what his father thinks…
Excellent point Mr. Goldberg…
This would be a nightmare…
Shaking my head… what is he thinking?…
Heh… very nice
We are counting on Texas…
So we all knew that she was pathetic… what I find interesting is that Anderson Cooper made her promise not to bash the Palins and then Bravo edited out of the show.  That is news and progress.  I watch Bravo and my guess is that Andy knew Willow is a minor and was not interested in going there.  Cooper’s evolution is new and I’m not sure what to attribute it to because he seemed to not want Kathy to bash any Palin.  Hmmmm…. go figure…
UPDATED:
Are you freaking kidding me?  This man still has to stand trial for his enabling of Sandusky to prey on little boys…
I think I’d rent a car the rest of the way…
Who knew?  Well good for him
Well color me surprised
I like any article that calls Obama a narcissistic boob
Will Obama take the credit for this?
Have a great weekend everyone!  I’ll update with some news tomorrow.  Enjoy the Olympics and good weather.

Thank you Firelight for keeping us “up-to-date” on everything.

I’m not neccesarily a “boot kinda guy” or a “shoe kinda guy.” Aw, keep your “big mouth” closed Dual and only open it when they give you some of that Chick-Fil-A. Now that’s talkin’.

Thanks again, Firelight. Palin knocked it out of the park last night.

the massive, all volunteer indexing of the USA 1940 census is moving forward. Over 100,000 people have now finished the indexing of 37 states.

Here is Sarah Palin’s great grandfather, grand mother and father, and uncles. Sally Sheeran (Heath) was born about 6 months after this. The family was in Salt Lake City.

God bless the Irish. Palin’s enemies haven’t figured that out about Palin. She’s shanty Irish, and will always come out swinging.

please remember that she traces her USA ancestry to 4 passengers on the Mayflower.

By the way, one of Gov Romney’s ancestors was killed as a witch in Salem, MA

    Good morning,

The comment that the Governor made during her speech last night about going to Chick-Fil-A, then going to the Chick-Fil-A in Woodlands and proceeding to post two pictures of her visit has certainly struck a chord.

After 10 hours, the first photo with the caption “Stopped by Chick-fil-A in The Woodlands to support a great business” has over 200,000 likes and has been shared over 14,987 times.

Needless to say the 10 word caption has caused the “Liberals” who are “outraged” that a CEO of a company would support traditional marriage” to go absolutely nuts, spewing their usual hatred in the comments and showing how intolerant they really are.

FWIW, IMHO the debate about whether the law should protect traditional as well as same sex marriages involves moral, ethical, religious and legal issues.

It does not speak well of those who call themselves “Liberal” that when confronted with an opposing view point, instead of debating the issue on the merits, efforts are made to shut down the conversation with hypocritical bullying …

    … or thuggery …

Palin Says Chick-fil-A is Victim of Chicago Thuggery
    http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/palin-blasts-leftwing-attacks-on-chick-fil-a.html

    … while ignoring reality …

Rahm Emanuel, Moreno out-of-touch with #Chicago Values
    http://legalinsurrection.com/2012/07/rahm-emanuel-moreno-out-of-touch-with-chicago-values/

The attack by the Statists on freedom of expression and freedom of religion while acting in an economic discriminatory fashion has struck a nerve.

The huge favorable response to the first photo which occurred in a short period of time shows that movement conservatives and conservative leaning libertarians are hungry for leadership on these issues.

While Romney gave a strong defense of economic freedom and success during his interview with Piers Morgan, he is still on defense.

He has yet to get to the heart of the matter. The attacks by the Obama campaign reflect the attacks on individual liberty and responsibility by the Obama administration.

These attacks are taking place not because Obama is in over his head. These attacks reflect the ideology and view point of Obama and that of his fellow travelers.

It is not for nothing that the Communist Party USA has endorsed Obama’s re-election.

Romney needs to go on the offense. He needs to champion the American experiment, while exposing Obama’s ideology which seeks to end that experiment.

Yes, Obama’s propaganda machine will call Romney racist, blah, blah, blah.

But IMV to win Romney needs the American public to understand that:

    - Obama has an ideological view point that is totally contrary to that which has made America a great nation;

    - What presently ails America in large measure are symptoms of this ideology;

    - These symptoms are reflected in the actions of the Political class that presently holds power in Washington, D.C.

If not, the election will be very close and Obama could well pull out a win.

Okay, end of my early morning rant.

P.S. Firelight, as always thanks for the news round up.

John -  I had an article that was published at The Daily last night in Chicago from an openly gay employee at Chick-fil-a who was defending the company.  I was going to link to it.  It was really good. He was talking about how while he is fully aware that the company is a Christian company and the owners hold to the traditional view of marriage, the company environment was incredibly tolerant and accepting and he has never had a problem.  He was in Chicago too.

His point was that Chick-fil-a does not discriminate in who they hire, does not discriminate in who they serve and works with employees of different faiths so that they can honor their faiths and values.  He even mentioned how nice it was that they were always closed on Sundays and Christmas.  Then right when I was going to link to it, someone pulled the article…  I guess they don’t want the world to hear the truth.

      • John_Frank

Do you have the link? Someone should go to the comment section on the FB wall for the referenced photo, post it with the caption “Openly Gay Man From Chicago Says That Chick-Fil-A is a great company.” If not, post the link here and I will do it.

P.S. After 13 hours the photo has 233,732 likes and has been shared 17,1942 times.

P.P.S. I suspect a lot of the employees appreciate working for a company that closes on Sunday. Yes, that might be a problem for the employees who are Jewish or Muslim and are religious, but something tells me that this company would find a way to accommodate the fact that Jews celebrate the Sabbath from sundown on Friday evening to sundown on Saturday evening and Muslims celebrate the Sabbath from sundown on Friday evening to sundown on Friday evening.

Update: Found it and here is what has been posted:

“Well, well, well – What prejudice? Chicago’s only Chick-fil-A says they have openly gay employees http://t.co/JZ5192gC

But heck, don’t let the facts get in the way of all the people who come here to trash Sarah Palin for standing up for freedom of religion, freedom of speech and economic freedom … all the freedoms that are required for gays and lesbians to thrive and prosper in America.

Gays more than anyone else MUST defend FREE SPEECH. Support Chick-fil-A!
        https://twitter.com/SmallgGay/status/229233486932877312

Instead lets watch gays and lesbians support politicians like the Mayor of Chicago launch a Stalinist war against Chick-Fil-A.

The Left’s Stalinist War on Chick-Fil-A
        http://conservativebyte.com/2012/07/the-lefts-stalinist-war-on-chick-fil-a/

Some people really need to wake up. Upset about Chick-Fil-A? Go to their FB page and protest, if you feel so inclined. However, don’t line up behind politicos like the Chicago and Boston Mayors who are acting like little Stalins while using the gay and lesbian community to raise money and generate votes from the left leaning GLBT community, but really could not care less about their ’cause.’”

        • Firelight

I haven’t found the interview with the employee posted again. It is still pulled. I did find the interview with the Manager which you found as well where they talk about their gay employees but they don’t name them or interview them.

Interesting, that they just can’t have the actual employees on the record out there. It was the same news outlet too so I know they have the story.  Someone told them to pull it.

Sarah Palin would be a wonderful visitor to the British games right now.
She could steal the show like she did at the Iowa straw vote just by showing up.
The Brits would fall in love, after the Romney fiasco.

    http://www.core3.com/image_slice/Romney-London.gif

    Come Sarah!!!
Road trip, road trip, road trip!!!

    • John_Frank

LOL … in a perverse way, by speaking the undiplomatic truth, Romney may have caused the British people to rally around in support of the Olympics.

A swift kick in the rear from the Yanks was just what the British needed to put an end to the interminable complaining about the preparation that had been going on in the British press until then and allow London’s Mayor to rally Londoners in support of the Olympic games at a huge rally on the day before the opening.

Yes, I know this goes against all the whining, moaning and pissing going in the American media, brought to you in large measure by the “Ministry of Truth,” oops I meant the Obama campaign, oops I meant pundits like Krauthammer et al who while reflecting conventional wisdom often are famously wrong and can’t see beyond the tips of their noses.

      Just a thought.

What is the bigger news and potentially more harmful to the Obama campaign, that Romney spoke the undiplomatic truth during an interview in London and later mistakenly revealed that he had a meeting with the head of MI6, which the Romney campaign and MI6 subsequently denied, or the fact economic growth in the US slowed from just over 4.1% in the last quarter of 2011 to 1.5% in the first quarter of 2012?

Funny how the American media focused on Romney’s “mistake” and the horrific ecnomic news received scant mention. Wonder why that was?

And why did Krauthammer go nuts over what he perceived was a “major” mistake by Romney in London, when it could be argued that in speaking the undiplomatic truth Romney actually did the British a favor?

Inquiring minds would like to know…

P.S. No interest in supporting Romney, but wondering why people like Krauthammer have difficulty in seeing “the forest from the trees” to use an old cliche. Does he not know that sometimes a diplomatic incident is deliberately caused, knowing it will generate a certain response, leading to a desired goal that is actually helpful, and once done the powers that be can “kiss and make up?”

      • Gelston

        8^(

        • John_Frank

What? And went off on my own little tangent? That would never happen. /sarc

Actually, I happen to agree that now would be a good time for Sarah Palin to go to London on private visit, if she was so inclined to deliberately upstage Mitt Romney at this juncture, although we both know it won’t happen.

The Governor is giving Romney every opportunity in the world to do the right thing, bury the hatchet, unite the party and give her a prime time speaking slot at the convention, after giving him a swift kick in the rear with her response to Peter Boyer’s inquiry.

Now, if he and his campaign continue to treat her as the enemy, well that is why you call a press conference, yes?

          • Gelston

when is the right time to look after her own future and look forward to 2016?
She has not been one to care what other people think. Dead fish go with the flow.

            • John_Frank

She made it clear in the Boyer email interview that no matter the Romney campaign strategy she is going to:

Palin is keeping the dates open in late August, just in case. In any event, she says, she plans to be politically active between now and November, starting with a Michigan Tea Party appearance, sponsored by Americans for Prosperity. “No matter the Romney campaign strategy,” she says, “I intend to do all I can to join others in motivating the grassroots made up of independents and constitutional conservatives who can replace Barack Obama at the ballot box.”

During the speech that she gave yesterday at the Ted Cruz rally, while going after Obama, at one point during the speech she made a statement about Cruz going to Washington to fight Obama’s tax increases. The line suggested that maybe she was thinking Obama was going to be re-elected presuming that Romney is the nominee.

She immediately dropped the line to avoid that inference.

Unless Romney picks a VP candidate that conservatives can embrace as one of their own, IMHO he will most likely not defeat Obama.

Most of the picks presently being bandied about do not cut it.

Yes, I am aware of the hoopla surrounding Rubio, but if he is the nominee:

              - many constitutional conservatives will be in an uproar and either vote third party, or not vote for a Presidential candidate; and

              - once people start paying attention they will come to realize that Rubio is an acolyte of the Rockefeller / Bush wing of the Republican party. He believes in the the “Imperial Presidency,” along with a “militaristic foreign policy” while accommodating the Muslim Brotherhood. This will dampen enthusiasm among independent conservatives.

Also, I suspect that when you scratch the surface, you will find that he is not that keen on “sudden and relentless reform,” especially in the relationship between the Federal Government and the financial services sector.

Romney is talking about repealing Dodd Frank. Fine, but replace that reform effort with what and please do not suggest that we can rely on the markets while the Federal Government insures deposits, and the OTC derivative market remains unregulated.

How long will she allow the present situation to continue, where Romney and his campaign are treating her, along with common sense constitutional conservatives as much the enemy as Obama remains an open question.

Needless to say Jim DeMint, who has yet to endorse Romney, will be asked by the Romney campaign about what took place at the rally in the Woodlands.

The next week or so should tell the tale of how this situation breaks.

              • Gelston

John Frank, you are a talented man

                • John_Frank

Appreciate your kind words. Thank you.

                • cookboy

                  Very much so.

              • Firelight

I caught that too John.  I did notice that she said Cruz would be going to DC to fight Obama’s tax increases.   I was hoping it was just a slip from doing so many anti-Obama stump speeches and not that she really thinks Obama will win in November.

                • John_Frank

The Governor has given no indication that she has changed her position that Obama must go.

However, maybe she stuck that line in to give Romney a jab – wise up buddy, because if you don’t, Obama is going to win – and then dropped it – knowing full well that Senator DeMint would catch it as well.

More likely she got caught up in the moment and then realized what she said gave rise to the wrong inference, so dropped the thought and moved on.

In any event time will tell whether Romney is prepared to take the wise course.

                • blackbird

I saw that too, Sarah paused and as John said “She immediately dropped the line to avoid that inference” it was very similar to Obama’s ‘going down’ comment but the difference is the Governor is way much quicker on her feet and recognized immediately the potential stir the words she was reading were not coming out right.

      • blackbird

John, I never thought of that and I guess Romney is like inspector Clouseau.

    • section9

As much as I would love to see her do this, she has to be seen to be going for a private purpose, not to show the Brits what a prat Romney is.

Since Romney intends to keep her from speaking at Tampa, I think she should by all means go and place her best foot forward.

      • Gelston

I’m cross posting this from C4P by Mia Belle….
This was posted on “Sarah Palin’s Earthquake Movement” on Facebook: Joshua Thuma (one of our members) just called me. He had a conversation
with Sarah Palin after the rally. He yelled to her that she needs to be
in the White House. She said to him “thank you for your intercession.”
She was signing an autograph for someone in front of him and he said
he is from the Earthquake group and she looked at him and said she loves
that. He told her what we are doing and he said she said it is
providence and praise God! Joshua said she was holding his hand when
she said that. What a thrill for Joshua. She told him to pray.

Thought I would share this with you. We will continue on!Everyone keep praying!See….   there is hope.  She wants us to interceed.

                • Firelight

Most of it is him talking AT her while she is working the crowd and talking to other people. You can hear their questions and conversations. When she is in front of him, she talks to him and moves on as he keeps talking. She is then talking NRA to someone else and he is still talking at her and Todd who does not acknowledge him.

                • LS as guest

                  Yes, thanks for posting it.

Even if the governor did understand what Joshua was hollering at her, she was IMO only responding kindly and graciously to an avid supporter.

Said avid supporter IMO got more caught up in ‘look what she said to me!!!!!’ by splashing it all over the Internet, than to the favors of kindness and graciousness–since advertising the interpretation he wanted does her no favor at all.

I won’t offer my opinion on how much she understood of his references.

        • golfmom3

Yes it was — right before my very eyes! Wow. This is good. Thank you for putting it back up here.

    • golfmom3

      Thanks!

    • Firelight

Pete – there were others there that strongly disagree with Josh’s take on this.

First, Palin had no idea who this group was and it was presented almost as a prayer group. When he said the name of the group, he only said they were praying for her, that was all. She basically said, great name and thanks for the prayers. That was it. She clearly made no connection to what he was talking about and the Facebook Earthquake group.

I have watched the video and I agree.  She has no idea who this Earthquake group is or what they are about. She only acknowledges his prayers for her.  To say that she validates that group and their agenda when Josh doesn’t even share with her what they are doing is putting words in Gov. Palin’s mouth.

Anyone that has ever seen Gov. Palin work rope lines regularly knows that she values anyone offering any type of prayer. She always has and always will.

I say we all keep praying but the Earthquake stuff needs to stay on the Earthquake page.

      • pete4palin

Nobody knows what the future is, but Pallin knows EXACTLY what’s going on.  This is why she is the leader she is. When one starts an oppinion with an incorrect premiss, the rest of it simply doesn’t stand up.    50 lashes with a wet noodle for you.

        • Firelight

As I said, it’s my board, keep the earthquake stuff on the earthquake board.  If you look at the video, it is clear that she had no idea what the group was so no, Palin is not omnipotent.  Smart, yes, omnipotent, no.

          • pete4palin

Again you are wrong. Palin knows what is going on.  To suggest otherwise is simply incorrect. Now you can add 10 more lashes with a wet noodle.

            • Firelight

Glad to know you speak for Palin.  Next time people want to know what Palin is up to, I’ll send them your way since you know what she knows and what she is thinking.  This will bring a new angle to blog, how fun!  /s

”I say we all keep praying but the Earthquake stuff needs to stay on the Earthquake page.”

        With all due respect,

How do you feel about the First Amendment??   Who judges what people should see or not?

You are somehow a gate keeper?   I DO know it is your site… But, your thinking and actions regarding this certainly makes me stop and pause.    Are you for Freedom or not?  Or are you for the Government party where someone decides what is suitable for the masses or not? We can not watch a video and have the where withalls to make a judgement??

        • golfmom3

Keep going, the link is down a few more.

        • Firelight

With all due respect, I pay for this site. I pay GoDaddy to host this site.  This is a private site. This is not a publicly owned site.

The Earthquake people have their own site and page on FB, keep that conversation over there. They fundraise off their people, I do not. They have the money to pay for their site. They don’t need to use mine. Just as I expect the Obama people, the Romney people, the “she is only a celebrity people” to keep their stuff on their own sites, I ask that the Earthquake people to keep their stuff on their own site.  Mostly because they sow so much discord that I find it intolerable.  It isn’t their beliefs, it is the discord they sow, kind of like the Paul people.

They have shown that they do not know how to agree to disagree gracefully.  If they could do that, I would have no problem with them but time and time again, they have proven unable to do that.

Since I set the tone on this board and I don’t like the bickering, name calling and such that goes on other places, it is my prerogative to ban topics of conversation such as birther comments and Earthquake discussion.

For the record, I, myself, posted the video because I think it proves just the opposite of what some may have hoped it did.

I will reply to you instead Firelight. I did not like his tone and he is not making any sense, you were very polite in asking to keep the Earthquake stuff there and I agree.

      • lanahi

I didn’t get much from the video because Josh wouldn’t quit yelling at her and her response wasn’t intelligible because of it.  I thought he was rude, actually, and they didn’t appear to pay much attention to him.  All I could get was “Earthquake?  I love it!”  She did remark about the name, but I couldn’t hear what she said.

I really can’t believe she wouldn’t know what the Earthquake group is, though.  Do you really think she isn’t aware of the movement?

        • Firelight

I don’t think she was making the connection.  He was talking prayer.  She comments that she likes the name.  The person I talked with said she thought Gov. Palin thought he was talking about a prayer group or something and that they named their group the Earthquake group to pray for her.  She definitely felt Palin either did not know the Earthquake group on FB or did not make the connection with Josh’s comment and that group.

          • blackbird

I think that is it, she “did not make the connection”

    http://legalinsurrection.com/2012/07/palin-stops-at-chick-fil-a-left-responds-with-misogyny-and-sexism/comment-page-1/#comment-358872

A Hollywood type (Russell Brand) got into the act making an extremely crude remark concerning Sarah Palin viz Chick-Fil-A, etc. as reported in the Huffington Post.

In response Sandra Fluke sent out the following tweet:

Sandra Fluke‏@SandraFluke Completely unacceptable remark re Sarah Palin. Female politicians deserve to be judged on merits of their ideas only.
    https://twitter.com/SandraFluke/status/229330518368456704

If people want to read the Huffington Post article, etc. go to the twitter link.

A touch of class. Even if we may disagree with that person’s political views, I believe it is appropriate to at least make note of the stance.

    • Firelight

I did a double take when I saw the Sandra Fluke tweet.  Not sure what I think about that.  I’d like to think she was being sincere but she would so disingenuous in her contraception complaint by withholding important information that I’m a bit skeptical.

      • blackbird

Hi Firelight just finish watching Zo http://www.therightscoop.com/zonation-liberals-just-dont-get-it/ he and Bill Whittle are my 2 favorite commentators, the first part of his commentary mirrors the sentiments of your post.

        • Firelight

I LOVE Zo!  He and Bill are 2 of my favs as well.  I’ve had the privilege of meeting both of them when they came to Denver.  They are both good, honorable, men.  They took the time to talk to a peon like me :)

          • blackbird

When Sarah said on the Today Show how Oprah could benefit from hiring more conservatives I thought of Bill and Zo, they would be a huge success.

      • John_Frank

Yes, a lot of people did a double take.

FWIIW – Interesting that she wrote re Sarah Palin instead of @SarahPalinUSA.

      • section9

That’s Sandra Fluke being an opportunist because she wants to run for Congress someday.

        Don’t be fooled.

      • RefudiateGOPe

Sandra Fluke’s name has faded and I suspect that she recognized that tweeting about Sarah was a sure way to get attention.  I have no way of knowing if her tweet is sincere, but based on my distrust of anything coming from a Liberal, I have no need to give her an attaboy for the tweet.

  • c4pfan

Aren’t the taxes going up no matter the outcome of the election?  That’s what I took Sarah’s statement to mean.

    • Firelight

Yes, that is a real possibility too.  These numbskulls in Congress are so hell bent on funding the implementation of Obamacare and all his new taxes that certainly would make sense as well.

  • http://twitter.com/CoolChange80 Michael

Russell Brand should be fired. Kathy Griffin should be fired. It is time for organized boycotts. Conservatives should get off their butts and do something.

    • section9

You can make your individual choice. However, free speech is free speech. Until we capture the culture, this will be acceptable.

      • Firelight

I just tune them out.  They are over the top and lots of libs I know find them offensive too.  I refuse to give them publicity for it because that is what they are, publicity whores.

        • excopconservative

They talk about Sarah because that’s where they will get the most attention.  She is the light bulb and they are moths flitting around it until they get too close and get burned.

          • section9

            Correct. You get it.

      • c4pfan

Where do you see that ever changing?

      • narciso

Well it should be pointed out that Russell as with Louis CK have shows on FX.

I watched Dana Loesch speech at FreePAC http://www.therightscoop.com/full-speech-watch-dana-loesch-at-freepac/ and had not heard the opening song in a long time so I thought I would post it for all the late night rockers The Cult – She Sells Sanctuary – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8I8mWG6HlmU

    • 99Dual99Citizan99

Thanks for the post, blackbird. Your turning me into a “late night rocker.” “Fantasy, pure fantasy.”

Rupert Murdoch employs some of the worst people around including Russell Brand, Louis C.K., Seth McFarlane, the racist black sportswriter Jason Whitlock of FoxSports.com, who penned the most vile column on Palin ever in September, awful Fox sports radio hosts, and perhaps the worst of the militant gay creator of Glee, Ryan Murphy.

    • c4pfan

I don’t think he does.  I think those are seperate.

Is Willow now on twitter?  See tweeted me. I hope it is for real. Willow is so cool and beautiful. She is prettier than Bristol. If that is really Willow Palin than that is the high point of my time on twitter.
    Follow Willow.

      No, Willow isn’t on twitter.

  • RefudiateGOPe

I am so thankful for this site.  The daily headlines are informative and the comments here are largely pertinent to the charter of this site.  Most of the time, we’re a well-behaved bunch. :-)

I see that a group of posters from C4P are now using The Right Scoop to bash the mods at C4P.  Maybe I’m dense, but I just don’t understand the wisdom of trying to expand a food fight that should have never happened to begin with.  It casts a shadow that covers all of us who support Governor Palin in her fight to restore the America we so desperately need and, imo, it reflects poorly on the Guv.  Shame on them.

    • Lipstick

You are spot on! There has got to be a shortage on tin foil. Lot’s of hats being made.

IMO when August comes and goes, there will be more theories about how Palin will step into the race.

Then after November there will be other theories how she is somehow going to be named President in some type of revolution.

Facts seem to have no effect. We have went from “at this time” being used that she will step in before summer somehow to….well, I’m not sure how she is suppose to get the nomination when the last time she has been on any ballot was November ’08.

After ’08 we were defending the Governor before she left office, then excitedly watching signs that she might be preparing for a run in ’12. Good times indeed!

Then Oct. 5th came and I took what she said to be what she said. I did not vote for Romney in my primary, but accept facts.

      You are right!

It makes all Palin supporters look bad. Others are quick to label all of us as crazy loons based on the comments of others and also the ugliness of others posting at sites across the internet.

We must present ourselves as factual people.

No tinfoil, no secret messages blinked out by Palin on OTR, no syntax dissection, no reading something into her earrings or body language or the fact that she has a different pair of glasses on or polite to someone who was rambling on.

We must present ourselves as not only supporters who wanted Palin to seek the office of President, but as people who support her IDEAS. We can move her IDEAS forward without her in office. The task, I feel, will be much harder and much slower, but doable. She does not want to run for office in ’12 or she would have.

Others seem to want to wreck what others have built into respected, on the front lines for Palin and her ideas websites in order to cram their movements and theories down others throats.

I hope soon people will stop pitching their fits and accept that Palin is not running and there is no hope for somehow getting her on the ticket. Even third party (which she would never do in ’12) is out of the question now, she is not on the ballet.

We must not loose hope that Palin’s ideas can move forward with this election. It is not a perfect world, but perhaps we can improve it.

I, like you, am thankful for this site…it gives me an internet home!

      • IsraeliCojones

IMO when August comes and goes, there will be more theories about how Palin will step into the race.

        Uh, yes.

They are going to live within the Twilight Zone until the Sociopath gets reelected.

And – you may be right – beyond that.

Sarah gets something (like Steve Bannon) that they don’t:

It will be a long and hard fight for Conservatism to take over America again.

        Blood, sweat and tears.

    • Firelight

This group is acting like liberal socialists.  They are engaging in adolescent protest behavior by demanding control of things they don’t own, demanding free speech on private property, and then trashing the place when they don’t get their way.

If they don’t like the mod or direction of a blog, they should go start their own site.  One should not
demand control of a site they don’t own, that is just silly.  They
should practice good ole American capitalism and start their own site.

      • Gelston

and if you guys don’t like it, why I’ll … I’ll … i’ll send firelight to beat you up. Yeah, that’s what I’ll do … send firelight.
        She’ll show ya.

Come on people, cut this out and lighten up.

        • Firelight

LOL, I’m pretty sure that no one is afraid of me.  I just wish some of these people would grow up and start using some basic manners.  What ever happened to common courtesy amongst people who are suppose to be on the same side?

          • Gelston

            Amen to that.
My perfect wife is a southern lady. She was raised with the Bible in one hand and Emily Post in the other. There is a lot to be said about that.
One aspect of Sarah Palin that I admire is that she has wonderful manners. The same can be said about Todd, By the way

    • TEXs

Why are you using this site to attack and malign some Governor Palin supporters from
      C4P and RightScoop?

If you have something to say about them go to those sites and and say it to their face,
      why here?

Don’t bring C4P turmoil to this site!

      • RefudiateGOPe

They are maligning themselves by their actions.  Requests to posters on both sides of the food fight to knock it off have been ignored.

I watched Glenn Beck’s speech at FreePAC http://www.therightscoop.com/full-speech-watch-glenn-beck-speak-at-freepac/ and was moved by the poem he read, I had not heard it before and so I would like to post a link to it: The Gods of the Copybook Headings by Rudyard Kipling 1919 – http://www.kipling.org.uk/poems_copybook.htm

From Wikipedia in part: The Gods of the Copybook Headings is a poem published by Rudyard Kipling in 1919, containing “age-old, unfashionable wisdom” that he saw as having been forgotten by society and replaced by “habits of wishful thinking.”

The “copybook headings” to which the title refers were proverbs or maxims, extolling virtues such as honesty or fair dealing that were printed at the top of the pages of 19th-century British students’ special notebook pages, called copybooks. The school-children had to write them by hand repeatedly down the page.

Hey blackbird,I have an idea, after you’re nominated for poster of the year, I say,” let’s open up Canada’s first Chick-Fil-A right here in Vancouver. I’d say on Main Street or Robson.” Hey, I just thought of an “added-plus,” we’d be next door to Sarah Palin’s Alaska. I can just see the ole’ boy’s network, now.

  • RefudiateGOPe

Ya know, every time I see some mouthpiece of the GOPe or PPC diss Governor Palin, it reminds me of when I was real young.  Castor oil was bitter medicine, but the promise of feeling better after taking it made it a teeny bit better. The shots at Sarah are painful for me and then I find myself smiling and thinking about the words of Dewey Whetsell: “Now these adolescent screechers are obviously not scuba divers. And no one ever told them what happens when you continually jab and pester a barracuda. Without warning, it will spin around and tear your face off. Shoulda known better.”  Dumbasses, everyone of them.

I think that it strengthens Sarah every time these fools do this because it casts a spotlight on her/our real political enemies and it strengthens the resolve of Palin’s army.

  • John_Frank

In response to Cheney’s attack on Sarah Palin, Mark Levin posted the following on his Facebook page:

Why does Dick Cheney feel it necessary to attack Sarah Palin?

I’m a fan of the former vice president but this isn’t classy. And he’s also wrong.  John McCain ran a terrible campaign; the Bush-Cheney administration had become very unpopular with the American people, including many Republicans; and the Bush-Cheney administration was every bit as activist when it came to expanding domestic spending and government activism as the Nixon administration.  The continuing attacks on leaders of grassroot conservatives by the Republican establishment, especially former Bush administration officials, need to end now. They got their nominee and they need to focus on Obama.
    http://www.facebook.com/notes/mark-levin/why-does-dick-cheney-feel-it-necessary-to-attack-sarah-palin/10150943108255946

    Now for some facts:

    A.B. Culvahouse Praises Sarah Palin
    http://legaltimes.typepad.com/blt/2009/04/ab-culvahouse-defends-sarah-palin.html

    My observation:

As long as the GOPe treats Sarah Palin as the enemy, then why should we support their candidate for President?

Oh right, because we must defeat Obama? Well it sure does not look like that is the objective of the GOPe, and to suggest that this is not a co-ordinated effort is nonsense.

P.S. I stand with Sarah Palin, for sudden and relentless reform.

Dick Cheney was for Ford and against Reagan.

He was for mr voodoo economist Bush 41,against Reagan.

Bush-Cheney-Tokyo Rove got us into endless idiotic, pointless wars and spent
    the country into oblivion.

Cheney was a milquetoast RINO squish all his life.

After 9/11 he became big “chicken hawk” neocon “bomb, bomb.bomb”,something people
    confuse with conservatism.

Those two, chicken hawks neocons and conservatives, are opposite.

These Bushies and their lap dogs are really vicious.
Did you notice that none of them ever criticize Obama in any serious way?

I am astonished that Liz came out so forthrightly in Sarah Palin’s defense, and spefically disagreed with her dad.

That was a class thing to do while remaining on good political terms with Big Dick.

I still see this as part of a deal to buy peace from the Rombots and provide a glide path for a Cabinet Post for Liz, but I guess she wasn’t brought into the loop. All the better, then.

    • TEXs

      No surprise here.

Little dick Cheney is corrupt to the core parasite, who lived off of American people
all his corrupt life.He never held a real job.

He really, really hates Governor Palin for many reasons, mainly because she’s opposite from
everything he,Bushies and their Pavlov lap dogs stand for.

His daughter Liz is younger and politically very ambitious.
      She’s playing the game.

      That’s all.
      One statement means nothing.

      She never,ever defended the Governor.
She’s talking now only because her own father attacked Gov. Palin, she’s on the spot.

If any other RINO attacked her she would have nothing to say,she never had anything
      to say before.

      • section9

You could be write. I guess the jury’s out on Liz.

    • John_Frank

The deal only works if Romney wins and scoring an own goal does nothing to help that cause.

Within the context of the continuous attacks against conservatives leaders like Sarah Palin since early May by Bush and Romney people, Cheney’s public attack on Sarah Palin begs the question Does Cheney and the Establishment Really Seek to Fire Obama?.

Irregardless with what may be going on behind the scenes, it seems to me Cheney went public with the private advice that he gave to the Romney campaign concerning the VP selection.

Cheney obviously favors someone like Bob Portman or Tim Pawlenty as Romney’s VP.

As Jedediah Bila pointed out in a tweet in response to Cheney’s interview:

      Jedediah Bila ‏@JedediahBila
Anyone arguing we need a VP choice less like Palin & West and more like Portman & Jeb Bush is out of touch w/ voters. And reality.
      https://twitter.com/JedediahBila/status/229582874540646400

Not only was that bad form, but his gratuitous attack on Sarah Palin makes it harder for Romney to unite the Republican party, presuming that is what he wants to do.

Given the actions of the Romney campaign since early May, it is becoming pretty obvious that the Romney campaign has decided not to curry favor with grass root conservative and conservative leaning libertarian voters who are supporters of people like Sarah Palin.

Instead, likely based on guidance given by Ed Rollins, it seems that the Romney campaign plans to use conservative/libertarian leaders like Sarah Palin as a foil for two reasons:

      - To curry favor with moderate independent voters, believing that conservatives and libertarian leaning conservatives have no where else to go and will end up voting for Romney at the end of the day based on ABO, enhanced by the endorsement of people like Senator Rand Paul; and,

      - Keeping conservative leaders like Sarah Palin at arm’s length does not give the Obama campaign anyone to use to rally their base, based on the premise that Obama’s base is not particularly enthused.

Will this extremely cynical strategy work?

Only time will tell, but if Romney picks someone like Portman or Pawlenty as his VP and enough people who might otherwise vote for Romney conclude:

Obama against Romney: Butterfingers v Sticky fingers
Americans must choose: do they want an incompetent gamekeeper, or an inveterate poacher?
      http://hat4uk.wordpress.com/2012/07/27/obama-against-romney-butterfingers-v-sticky-fingers/

and as result decide not to vote for Romney, either voting third party, or simply not voting for anyone on the ballot for President, given the power of the incumbency, more likely than not Obama wins.

Update: Of course later this week Sarah Palin could announce that she has been invited to give a speech at the convention in a prime time speaking slot and Romney surprises everyone by announcing Representative Allen West as his VP nominee. Yes, I know, but we can only hope that Romney rejects the cynical strategy being pushed by his advisers and decides to take the required steps to not only win, but win big.
