Steelman Surge to Victory Tuesday

Good Morning!

Today I am excited!

The Show Me State votes today to decide who will be the GOP Senate nominee. I’m from Texas and know BBQ, and what I saw on Friday in Missouri looked pretty tasty and served with a side of conservatism. Steelman is on fire with several last minute big endorsements, the Palin visit buzz and lots of boots on the ground. I know it will be a close race, but I have a gut feeling that Steelman will have just enough to win. Remain in prayer all day for the voters to come out and Steelman to come out on top.

The Governor must have a Discover Card. She and Todd have cranked up the RV and been pumping tons of diesel while traveling all over the place to work for conservative candidates. 5% cash back on gas ain’t bad.

All this action on the ground Palin style makes the boys and girls at Prep School in Tampa look petty, ugly and self serving. The disgusting trotting of operatives out to bash Palin and digging up bones from ’08 is not even high school level, but Junior High School tactics. They look to be more focused on keeping Palin out of their little club she doesn’t even want to be in than uniting the party, rallying the base and beating Obama. How many ways can you be stupid?

The Governor doesn’t seem to give a rat’s butt about the RINO prancing prom night  RNC Convention coming up in Tampa. Frankly, neither do I.  Instead, Palin is focused, relaxed, getting some summer travel in with the kids and kicking a little establishment butt all while wearing awesome looking shoes. My popcorn air popper is over heating from all the popcorn I have been popping around here watchin’ Palin make Mitt and the club look worse than I ever imagined they could.

I’ll be honest. I have never really watched the Conventions. I find them contrived and boring. In ’08 I tuned in because…well….DUH….the first female on a national GOP ticket was speaking and she was conservative down to her core. I was all over watching  just Palin’s speech in ’08. Didn’t watch any other parts of the convention, tuned in specifically to hear the Governor and I was not disappointed. There were millions just like me that night in September ’08. And just like millions today, I’m just not feeling the need to change any plans to see any of the establishment’s speeches on the super special invite list the RNC has released thus far…nope…besides my dog is pretty damn darn entertaining, so I’m watching him laying and sleeping on the back porch instead.

 

On the home front, the boy is with my sister for the week in H-town and hubby is traveling having  finally been cleared by his doctor to do so after his back surgery in June. For most of our 19 year marriage he has flown out on Monday and flown home on Friday. He has been working from the house since June so I am glad to have him out of my hair for the week sad to see him go. All this means I am by myself till Friday. Wow! I have The Undefeated on the DVR and a couple of chick flicks I plan to watch plus I plan to go to the big city one day all alone to do a little shopping and eat lunch where I want to! Wow, I’m pumped!

How many of you have been watching the Olympics?

I am so proud of all our athletes.

Our swimming squad had an awesome meet but I must admit to a little water logging going on so I am thrilled to be out of the pool and on the track! WOOT! I love me some Track and Field and it has been exciting so far.

Usain Bolt had a jaw dropping Olympic record 100 meters at 9.63 but how about our Team USA? We took 3rd (Justin Gatlin 9.79), 4th (Tyson Gay 9.80) and 5th (Ryan Bailey 9.88) in the 100 meters and I couldn’t be prouder! Way to go guys!

I am eagerly awaiting the women’s 100 meter hurtles. That is one of my favorite events. It is fast, exciting and you never know what will happen when you have hurtles on the track. It is anyone’s race, literally, ask Lolo Jones! All three American women qualified to move on to the Semi-Finals and should be in the Finals as well. I am watching Kellie Wells on this event. There is lots of competition in the field including Dawn Harper, who won gold in Beijing coming out of no where and has had to listen to people question her ability and calling her win a fluke. She is hankering for a big old piece of validation! An all American podium would be awesome! We’ll know today as the Semi-Final and Finals will be run today!

Last time I was at Galveston the beach was to dang crowded, I’m contacting my Congressman about getting it shut down just for me and my friends to be there.

I know there is a lock out due to a contract dispute, but I hear shattered glass hitting the floor.

She is a competitor so she is disappointed, but this American gal did great!

Sure hope that home cookin’ was yuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-mmy.

I had high hopes of an American medal in the Women’s Marathon, but it is a brutal race and easy to get bit in the butt.  Shalane Flanagan 10th and Kara Goucher 11th (Desiree Davila DNF) is very good in such an unpredictable race. Way to go ladies!

The Guv We Love will be checking this new store out….guaranteed!

They are all pretty much basketball players and tennis players.

Guess once your payin’ the bills, tree hugging and surf worship is not so cool any more.

      RO- I’m the same, lately I have just had that feeling that Gov. Palin is getting so much support and pushback from so many different sources that it seems like we are winning even if it is a negative story.  I like to see the progress.

This guy is a smart ass local conservative talker who spent about 15 min. awhile ago dissing Palin for wearing the superman shirt. I’ve already blasted him with the fact that it was a campaign t-shirt and that other staff/volunteers were wearing them, also that she and Steelman were slinging BBQ for about an hour, so more formal attire would have been inappropriate.

        Ha, just read your comment. Killer! You nailed it. He and I also had an email exchange. He backed off when I told him it was a campaign shirt, just said, “well, maybe a bigger size and what about the shoes and pants” so I told him she always wears ‘interesting’ shoes and the women love it, and that she wore cowboy boots from Rick Perry at the Cruz rally. I finished by saying she’s not running for anything, but is kicking ass and taking names w/her endorsements, and if I were a candidate and she agreed to come campaign for me, I wouldn’t give a rip what she was wearing. And what is he, the fashion police? He totally backed off then and said he thinks she’s beautiful and Todd is a lucky guy, but why give your enemies any ammo? I said her enemies aren’t going to back off, no matter what she wears or doesn’t wear, so why worry about it? She’s having fun and in the process has become the most powerful republican in the country.

          I mean really, I can tell the Governor has lost weight and is super lean and I know why…she is running her a** off.

          Where I live we really don’t have a winter so running is no big deal in the winter months. In other areas of the country where it gets really cold like say…..I don’t know…..ALASKA…..many runners cut back a lot on their running. The weather is an issue and frankly running on a treadmill stinks. As a result, some runners put on a few pound and so in the spring you are working to loose a few and get into some serious training.

          Palin was out of Alaska some this winter where she could easily get some lovely outside running in and treadmill it back home and do some outside runs when it was not too brutal. I don’t think she had any “winter pounds” to lose this spring so she is looking really nice. Plus, I am convinced she ran some marathon some where this spring and am happy no one knows about it because it means she had an awesome time being just a regular runner like everyone else.

          All this running makes her look even greater and I know when you are running your butt off you kind of like to wear some clothes that are not inappropriate but show off your good points, I know I do. I am 44 and I know I may at times wear clothing that some jerk may think is “gasp” worthy for a woman my age but they can kiss my rear. I work out and like to wear some clothing that is not street walker material but shows my hard work. Hubby likes it and it is not making news at my church or anything, but no, I’m not wearing skirts below my knee or neck lines up to my chin and maybe my shirt is a little fitted, so what?

          I don’t see why Palin has to wear a “looser” shirt or skirt or anything. Nothing she wears is skin tight and it looks great and she has worked for it so why not?

          All these reporters and critics who sit on their butts and get soft and so they think they have to snark about her looks, clothing and hair.

          They need to get over it and control their eye placement. Go to the mall and any store and check out what people wear these days, no one is in Laura Ingalls dresses anymore.

Ran for Congress in the early 90s and lost. Broke my heart.

       That article was horrible. Apparently if you’re a not an elected official, you still should wear a business suit when you’re giving a stump speech from a trailer at a farm.

      I’m so sick of all the negative emphasis on her clothes. Governor Palin could wear a burlap sack with a paper grocery bag over her head, and someone would complain that she didn’t wear a reusable grocery bag.

        LOL … what the article shows is the hypocritical double standard of the Democratic media establishment.

        If Hillary Clinton had gone to a rally /BBQ for a candidate named STEELman and wore shades, pumps along with a Superman T-shit, which was the campaign T-shirt the media would have been raving.

        What is interesting is that despite all the snark, the writer is forced to admit that the trip to the event was worth it and the MO crowd loved Sarah Palin.

        Just ignore the article and look at the deeper narrative that Palin set the other day.  She is taking every single MSM narrative falsely created about her and using it to her advantage.  How many high end suits have you seen Palin wear on the stump since the election?  I haven’t seen any. 

        If the MSM and others want to try and make a story about Palin wearing a T shirt, I am sure she is happy about that and would love to get a few days mileage out of it.  It just reminds the voters she is genuine, one of us, and will never be bought.

        Bruce Rastetter hosts an annual summer party at his home in Hubbards, Iowa.

        He is a very wealth businessman and a prominent supporter of the Republican party in Iowa and nationally. He was one of the people who wanted Christie to run.

        According to the Des Moines Register invites to the party are highly sought after by the movers and shakers in Republican politics, and not just those who are Iowans.

        The invitation was extended to the Palin’s through Republican activist Becky Beach many months ago.

        The Iowa Republican says that attending with Sarah Palin were Todd Palin, along with their daughters Willow and Piper Palin. The first picture with the article shows Jason Recher traveling with them as the advance person, etc.

    Last night I recalled that a couple of years ago, I commented about wanting Sarah Palin to do an ‘Alaska’ on DC when she becomes president. (Doing to DC what she did to Alaska.) Firing and prosecuting corrupt politicians. Making crony, powerful corporations conduct their business lawfully. Etc.  – Her typical stuff.

    And then I wondered what it would look like if Mitt Romney did his ‘Massachusetts’ on DC when he becomes president.  (Doing to DC what he did to Massachusetts.)  But Obama is already doing that, so . . .

    Bristol makes such an important point in this post! Being in favor of the traditional definition of marriage doesn’t mean a person hates gay people or is expected to shy away from candidly answering what their opinion is on something like marriage. Since when has our nation been
    anything but an exceptional nation that prides itself on the right of expressing personal opinion under the First Amendment and continuing to build our culture on a melting pot of diversity. Need we remind people that leaders like Barack Obama and Joe Biden held the exact same position as Bristol does in favor of traditional marriage just a few short months ago, yet were never called “haters” of anyone.

    The press has certainly been very insistent – in fact brutal – in questioning Bristol about whether she’d have a problem dancing with a gay partner on DWTS this fall (this was ramped up after she posted a picture of Todd and me recently enjoying Chick-Fil-A), and some yellow journalists even ginned up a false controversy claiming her 3-year-old son Tripp used an anti-gay slur word which he never used. She answered the question clearly and elaborated on it with this blog post, yet – and this is fascinating – the piece was met with crickets from the liberal media because it just doesn’t fit into their false narrative about her. That’s a shame, and they’re a shame, because she explained herself very clearly here.

      I love it when Momma Grizzley rises up on her two hind legs (sporting her “S” T shirt for good measure) and roars at the slimey media while defending her cubs.

      She makes some excellent points.  The gay community always kicks themselves in the ass when they have a chance to be rational to further the debate.  This has nothing to do with “hating” gays, it is everyone’s right to express their own opinions – even though if may differ from you own.  Bristol has a right to have an opinion, so do the Palins, so does the rest of America.

      Between the jag off who went through the Chick-fil-A drive-thru last week and berated that young employee to the numerous other Hollywood types and so-called actors that we are suppose to swoon over, this continues to backfire in their faces. The activists always stumble out of the block before they even reach the first hurdle because they always have selective outrage.  Their race is over before it ever starts.

      How about changing strategy?  Go ahead, live your life, and not try to push your agenda on others.  As much as you feel strongly and passionate about a cause, face the reality that those on the other side are just as passionate about their own thoughts and beliefs.

        Exactly!  I don’t understand why the gay community undermines itself.  I have a lot of gay friends and they are just as split on this marriage issue as the rest of America and yet they have civil disagreements for the most part.

        If a gay person can disagree with the concept of gay marriage for whatever reason they feel but still be 100% supportive of their community then why can’t straight people disagree with the same concept for whatever reason they feel and still be 100% supportive of the gay community?

          Same here.  I have a lot of gay friends too and we discuss the marriage issue all the time because it is always a part of the political conversation.  I know this may be shocking to those Palin haters who think she is against all of us/them, but that just isn’t the case.  Never has been and I despise the MSM trying to create that false narrative that she is some type of extremist. 

          The gay community and liberals/Obama supporters who tried once again to make this an issue of tolerance really screwed up last week.  You know what is even more frustrating though.  The MSM lap dogs in the media who stay silent when they know that their side has lost the argument.  Instead of siding with the other side, they sit on the fence and stay silent.

          I mean really……having a Kiss Event at Chick-fil-A???  Are you freakin’ out of your mind?!  Yep, just what I want to watch while I’m eating dinner or enjoying a tasty french fry.  It wouldn’t matter if they were a straight couple or gay…..the last thing I need to watch in public is a bunch of people sucking face. 

          The dialog will never advance when you have lapdogs in the media never calling out their own side when they know for a fact they are being completely irrational and stupid.  (Rant button off).  LOL

    I like when Sarah is more active for many reasons, including that there are more articles about her to read and comment on . After a little break from this, I’ve come back to realize how easy it is to defend Sarah from the PDSers. She has made it easy. Thank you, Gov. Palin.

    Months ago, I learned to appreciate Sarah Palin even more, when I considered trying to defend Mitt Romney in comment sections. He has not made it easy. I have never brought myself to write anything down defending him. I’m not even completely convinced that, “He’s got to be better than BO,” is necessarily a good enough reason to even try to defend him. I hope he wins, but – could we have put the bar any lower?

    Anyway, Sarah is more active, and we have the first branch of government to gain control of. And I thank Sarah Palin, yet again, for giving me hope.

      This isn’t a site to bash Dana Loesch.  Not all Palin supporters agree with Palin’s endorsements especially when it comes to their own states.  That doesn’t make them closet bashers.

          Problem is, Sarah needs the Loesch’s on her side so attacking them and accusing them of something that none of us can prove only hurts Sarah. 

          They are just rumors. No one has any proof that it is true. I’ve met both Dana and Chris on two occasions and both times in groups of their friends I observed them talking positively about Sarah. 

          Bottomline:  Sarah needs as many conservative journalists on her side and at least publicly both Dana and Chris are on Sarah’s side.  Please don’t screw that up for her by attacking them in her defense based on just rumors.

            Yes, I commented on Dana’s Big Government roundup of Missouri Senate race yesterday that even though from twitter I thought she had a preference, I couldn’t tell from her article who that was, and I commended her for showing the old stream media that it can be done.

            That is, writing a straight news story when you have your own bias.

    Sarah Palin has to be the best Social Conservative. I think you are going to see Palin advocate for more Social Conservatives so that a Santorum or Huckabee doesn’t crowd her out. If Palin is going to beat the Bush machine she needs the Social Conservatives.
