Well this is what we have all been waiting for. While we will likely never know details, what is clear is that Fox did make her an offer and she did decline to continue on. VP Bill Shine stated that the parting was amicable in his statement to the NYT The Media Decoder.
Sure there will be some naysayers but I think we all could see that preaching to the choir can only get us so far. I think Gov. Palin clearly could see this and now she can branch out and expand the conservative message in whatever way she sees is most effective.
Excerpt from Scott Conroy:
After a three-year run as a paid contributor to the nation’s highest-rated cable news channel, Sarah Palin and FOX News have cut ties, according to a source close to the former Alaska governor.
“It’s my understanding that Gov. Palin was offered a contract by FOX, and she decided not to renew the arrangement,” the source close to Palin told RCP. “She remains focused on broadening her message of common-sense conservatism across the country and will be expanding her voice in the national discussion.”
The source declined to say whether Palin would pursue a television contract with another news network, such as CNN.
Breitbart’s Tony Lee has a great write up too!
I also can’t help but be completely amused that Gov. Palin is still trending on Twitter even though we are told she is soooo irrelevant (cough, cough) and as Pete pointed out in the comments this little news drop has completely overshadowed Romney’s DC luncheon where he announced he wasn’t going away… did anyone notice that? buehler?… buehler?… bwaa haaa haaa!!!!
I say congrats Gov. Palin!! I’m looking forward to what you do next.
