Good morning everyone!

Today I don’t have much to offer.  I was up late with my 8 year old doing homework.  Bless her heart, she is going to be tired today.  I will be downing coffee all day to compensate and hopefully she will make it thru the day OK.

I should have just kept my kids home from school for the morning and let everyone (including me) sleep in but nooooo because I’m not that kind of mom.  Oh… why can’t I be that kind of mom… my bed was sooo comfy this morning, there is snow out and I’m still tired !!  LOL!

There seems to be a lot of news to discuss these days :) …

Well call the national guard because my 5 year old will make a gun out of a tulip… seriously people this is getting ridiculous the little boys in my son’s preschool class all play weapons. I say weapons because some days it is a light saber, some days it is a sword and some days it is a gun but the scariest days are when they unite as a posse of ninja turtles…  assault turtles…  at 5 years old they are a serious threat…

I won’t question the motive, I just think it sets a good example and if I lived in Texas then I would be happy…

Pretty damn sure this lady was glad she wasn’t in a gun free zone…  thank you officer…  now someone freaking explain to be why this poor woman was left alone with this man to begin with and then forced to stay in the room while they were handcuffing him?

Our government is stupid so it is feasible that one day these people will find a way to beat them…

Sorry Egypt but I think you are stuck with them…

Go Ted!  I see both Arizona and Oklahoma also courting some of these companies… good for them…

Lookie what Teddy is also up to… this is very, very good… and he is supporting this too…

Sorry but if you come into my house illegally… you don’t get to decide what “tone” I use when I ask you to leave and IF I’m feeling generous enough to come up with a plan that will make you work so you can stay… don’t tell me what words I can and cannot use especially the name Reagan… telling me I can’t say his name is just fighting words…  and I do think we can learn from his mistakes so there…

Does anyone actually believe we will get secure borders before our President grants amnesty?…

Now this I approve of… Mark needs to be heard more and set Hannity straight in the process…

    Good morning all.  I wish that when I was a youngin’, my Mother was like Firelight.

    Lots of sever weather moving through here today.  The weather radio has been going off about every 15 minutes since 3 a.m.  Tornado warnings, watches, and severe thunderstorms, not exactly late January weather.  Temps were 70 degrees yesterday, 60 degrees now, but it will be 15 degrees by overnite.

    You are a great Mom, Firelight. I’m sure that your little one with treasure the memory of your staying up late to help her with her homework for years, especially when she finds herself repeating her performance with her own little one.

    Stay warm and you could take a nap before the little ones return from school.

    The special election is set to replace our new SoS John Kerry in the Senate. The primary is April 30 and the general election is June 25. Mass Gov. Deval Patrick is expected to name Kerry’s interim replacement today and the expectation is that it will be Barney Frank.

    Scott Brown is apparently leaning toward entering the race early next week.

    Could someone explain to me what the purpose is of submitting legislation (like term limits) that has no chance of going anywhere? Is it simply to get pols to go on the record?

      Yes, I think that is exactly what proposing that type of legislation is. I think it is to get pols on the record and bring the idea/issue to the mind of voters.  If you keep doing it, eventually it may catch on with a very fed up electorate.

    For a tired Lady that was an amazing roundup!  Cruz is great, like Palin he ‘takes it to em’ hard and has fun doing it. The Senate just won’t be the same stuffy old club.

    This ‘amnesty’ will be a great farce if it proceeds, just like everything the DC Repubics as Mark calls them, set out to do. They will concede on everything Obama wants and get nothing in return. It will be the ‘debt ceiling’, the deficit reduction, etc. in replay.

    I never watched Soledad except through vids on RS and elsewhere but her attempt to look serious with that perpetually furrowed brow was clearly just an indication of a profoundly befuddled person.

    Hannity’s ratings are going down quite dramatically so his friend Mark has answered his distressed call. You are right it will bring Mark to the TV audience and it will broaden his message.

    At least Walshe admits the media can’t help themselves over Palin. Sarah makes news 24/7 and it is always exciting.

      I think it’s become clear already why Sarah put her energy and influence behind Ted Cruz (instead of trying to oust Orrin Hatch). It’s also obvious why the GOPe was furious when Cruz beat their guy (Dewhurst) in the primary.

      This may also be one of the reasons why she’s been rather quiet lately. She doesn’t want to take attention away from Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, etc.

      Roman empire… 

      combined with the fact that she and her brother have swimming after school so we don’t get home until almost 5pm and then I have to fix dinner, they needed baths and she needed me to help her with some of it so we underestimated how much time it would take and I was reading news from the day for the news roundup :)

      All in a days work  :)    She woke up really well and happy so that was good.  I think I am getting old, lol!

        I’m sure you’ve got it under control.  I just hate the thought of an 8-year-old slaving over what–her times tables?–at the kitchen table for hours into the evening!

          me too!   I’m not big on little ones having a lot of homework.  This project was bigger than even the teacher expected.  I’m sure it will be tweaked next year to pair it down and likely assigned with a week to complete.

          While she does attend a Charter school that is academically demanding this was VERY out of the ordinary.

          We did make it fun though and now we both have Roman names, lol.

    William Cowan has been selected to fill the temporary Senate seat being vacated by John Kerry. Don’t know a thing about Cowan except that he was Mass Gov. Patrick’s former chief-of-staff.

      Yes, please secure the border and then immediately act to restore the rest of our 14th Amendment protections. At that point the problem will begin to remedy itself, and most people will be shocked at just how swiftly it will happen.

      I was watching Uma Pemmaraju interviewing a female radio host today and she said how she was in a bank and they asked for her I.D and there were 2 men on her right and when they asked for their I.D they did not speak english and was escorted to a special processing desk to continue their transaction.

    With all due respect, you’d better get your Grrrr on and your assault gun loaded very soon, because, from me to you, all of this is intensely depressing, and I’m not even talking about you: I’m talking about country.

       Ditto to the max!   The establishment really thinks conservatives lost it for them last election. They are doubling down and will go to whatever lengths it takes next go around.  Not necessary in hopes of winning the general election,  but to have the primary season end with New Hampshire.    Like the French before WW2,  they have entrenched themselves in a hardened defensive position against what ever conservative may come. 
      So what is the answer?    Glad you asked.
      Like the Germans, Palin can simply go around them by forming a new party. The establishment will just sit there by themselves while destiny moves on.  Oh poor poor Washington establishment Republicans, nobody to beat up this time? Oh so sad.

    a couple of pekingese walked into my office, here under the kitchen table,  and almost had a heart attack when they saw “Going Rogue” on my  book shelf.
    oh, i see you got HER book , they snidely commented. Absofrickinlutely i exclaimed. For the past 4 years obama has wiped the floor with the party i use to be member of. the only victory they had was in 2010 and that was largely due to Sarah, who was subsequently ostracized by them.
    Reason number  2956 to support Sarah.

    “We’re not interested in shutting the government down,” Ryan responded. “What happens March 1 is spending goes down automatically. March 27 is the moment you’re talking about, when the continuing resolution expires. We are more than happy to keep spending at those levels going on into the future while we debate how to balance the budget, how to grow the
    economy, how to create economic opportunity.”

    Groan.

    So, “no” to using the debt ceiling and “no” to using the continuing resolution as a lever to compel the the Democratically controlled Senate and the President to agree to a plan to balance the budget.

    Instead, Ryan proposes that we “debate” how to balance the budget.

    Talk about “useless.”
