Why We Fight Wednesday

As I’m typing this, Senator Ted Cruz has just finished reading from the Dr. Seuss book Green Eggs and Ham on the Senate floor as a bedtime story for his daughters:

I’m reminded of a quote from G.K. Chesterton, “The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.” Senator Cruz is fighting a policy battle, not because he is fueled by hatred for a policy, but because he loves his kids. Statesmen who are true fighters are motivated because they want to leave a better country for their kids–not one mired in debt with restricted freedom.

By the way, one of Senator Cruz’s staff tweeted this picture of Cruz’s daughters watching him read to them from the Senator floor. Absolutely adorable:

The FDA hired Obama’s campaign media peeps to help them understand Twitter…no cronyism there.

Bono does a pretty good Bubba impression.

No one can hear you scream, Schmidt!

Illinois cronyism…sadly this is par for the course, not news.

Poor, poor, Jebbie.

She needs to read the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence to find out what’s in both of them.

Happy Wednesday!

Is Ted Cruz absolutely fantastic or what?

Green Eggs and Ham on the Senate floor?

Dude is a genius. I seriously hope he runs. ‘They’ are already scared as hell. And I’m not talking about the Dems.

By the way, please draw a line in the sand and remember where it is: you are on THIS side, and Krauthammer, Goldberg, Morrissey etc are all on the other.

    ‘Conservative’ pundits of my b*tt.

    Have a great day :)

    • BrianusBerkleianus

      Thanks and greetings, IC!!

I would just say, re Ted Cruz, that I TOO hope he runs–for VP with Sarah!

      God bless!!!

Absolutely right IC…..make a stand and stick with it. At least with Democrats you know where they stand….the Gope not so much.

      Kraut background:

Left his medical practice to work with Carter.

      Worked on Mondale’s 1984 campaign.

Trashed Reagan into Reagan’s second term.

Kraut is Establishment Party guy. He happened to switch parties, but he’s a Party Guy before he’s an American. That’s how I see Kraut.

      • IsraeliCojones

I’m aware of his background but he’s perceived by most as a ‘Conservative’ (even by Conservatives), which annoys me to no ends.

A cocktail party guy, that’s how I see him.

        • hrh40

          That, too.

          A Cocktail Political Party Guy.

  • BrianusBerkleianus

Thanks, Whitney, especially for the photos and the G. K. Chesterton citation.

    God bless!!

    My Dear Friends in Sarah,
(I am also posting this on C4P.)

    Happy Wednesday to you all!!!

We were much blessed yesterday; our country was much blessed yesterday by the twin appearances of the Governor on FOX. Below are the remarks I posted last night (on C4P) on the second of her two interviews.

    God bless!!!

    Good Evening, Everyone!!

Here are a few highlights from and observations on her interview with Hannity.

Earlier today she was dressed in orange; tonight, in red.

Both are the colors of FIRE and FLAMES and FIGHTING.

Earlier today she used a FLAG (Flags) as a prop; tonight, A BIBLE.

FLAG and GOD; Country and God: PERFECT.

These two magnificent interviews should thus be taken as a unity, as a whole, IMHO.

Here are a few items from tonight’s interview.

She suggests that Ted Cruz can start reading the obamacare bill on the Senate floor if he runs out of materials during his filibuster!!! She humorously suggests that nancy pelosi might say, Oh, THAT’S what’s in this bill!!!!

She holds up a BIBLE, as was noted above, and remarks that IT, GOD”S WORD, contains fewer pages than the obamacare “bill”–magnificent!!!

The implication is that these proud fools think they can do better than the Lord Himself!!!

Re the question of where are the other Republicans besides the six or so who are supporting Cruz—she notes that DEMS too should be there, because some of them have seen through obamacare.

THIS IS MUCH GREATER THAN THE BATTLE, important as it is, over this particular program that will be run by the IRS, obamacare.

    Ted Cruz loves his country.

    We’re told it’s a LOST CAUSE.

HERE SHE MAGNIFICENTLY cites the Jimmy Stewart classic movie “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington,” and points out that Mark Levin cited the movie earlier today on his radio show.

A LOST CAUSE is the only one really worth fighting for …

… because of one simple rule: LOVE THY NEIGHBOR (famous words from the Jimmy Stewart movie).

A (real) politician will FIGHT TO THE DEATH, if he or she knows that one simple rule!!!

Guys, I cannot help but contrast the Governor’s magnificent encomium and laudation of Senator Cruz with Bill O’Reilly’s sickening and cynical attribution of BASE motives to Cruz on his show “The Factor” just before Sarah came on Hannity.

GO TO HELL, O’REILLY!! YOU are the one who has selfish motives in your work, IMHO—How dare you PROJECT your base motivations onto a PATRIOT like Senator Ted Cruz!!!

Then, and this was THE CROWN of the interview for me, she cites her own junior-high-school days, and REAGAN’S battle with Gerald Ford and the GOP Establishment in 1976!!

What Reagan did was to OPEN THE DOOR in 1976 for a real Conservative agenda.

This is JUST WHAT WE WILL NEED POST-obama!

A heck of a lot of work will have to be done post-obama, with all the destruction and damage he has wrought.

What a stirring and encouraging call to hope and to battle!!

his beliefs, his ideals, and his love of country.

Guys, what a splendid, inspiring day this is through which we have just lived.

Again, along with the Jimmy Stewart/Senator Jeff Smith part, this was my favorite moment in the interview:

And, God willing, Governor, YOU will be leading that uprising!!!!

    God bless, guys!!!!!

  • M_Minnesota

    Good morning P4A!

    Cross posted,

It was sooo great listening to Senator Cruz last night!! Two sections of last night’s oratory THAT MUST BE SAVED FOR FUTURE USE are Cruz reading and responding to the President of the Teamsters Union (Left) And the Letter of the CEO from Hobby Lobby (Right/Religious Freedom of Expression)

    Have a great Day!!

    • BrianusBerkleianus

      Thanks, Roomie!

Illinois politics, there’s just no end to the corruption. I would say that almost every single politician here, has had their hands in the cookie jar somewhere along the way. It’s just about impossible to fix. *sigh*

Ted Cruz, what can I say, what a hero you’re becoming to me….right up there with Palin, Levin and West…..can you PLEASE move to Illinois…..pretty please !!

That photo of Cruz’s little girls is in a word, priceless and just makes me smile. ♥

  • IsraeliCojones

Ted still going on on the Senate floor…

    I’m in love.

    • Firelight

      me too!!!

    • slpence

I know how you feel! I am so proud of my Senator Cruz! Unfortunately, my other senator (cornyn) is a rino, but we’re blasting him with calls and emails!

      • IsraeliCojones

You must get rid of Cornyn. He’s got his fingerprints on every backstabbing of Conservatives by the GOPe since forever.

When is he up for reelection?

        • MaMcGriz

          Not nearly soon enough.

    • MaMcGriz

Me too. Is he not just the best???

I kept the tv on in my bedroom all night, and got to hear him smack dirty harry around a little during his final half hour.

      Harry’s a foul sort.

  • hrh40

    Great roundup, Whit.

And a great night and morning! Stayed up way too late watching Cruz, had to stay up and watch him take out VA Sen Tim Kaine. :)

Listening now in the background at work. Inhofe has been speaking for a while to give Cruz a break. He’s a good guy and an argument against term limits. He talked about how he was in the House in the Clinton years for Hillarycare and how at that time, everyone said Hillarycare was a done deal, too.

    Live now:

  • c4pfan

We go through this every time and every time the GOP says, ‘not now’ and then the now comes and they say ‘not now’ again, as usual. I knew this when people in the GOP started to defend Romeycare, which is the exact same thing as Obamacare. Pretending that the GOP is going to gain enough seats in the Senate and then tweak Obamacare is NOT good enough.
It’s way too late now. It was when the GOP caved on every debt ceiling government shutdown threat.

  • Riley4Palin

So….where do we stand at this hour?

    1) Cruz is trending all over the internet.

    2) Cruz has spent more hours on the Senate floor in front of the American people and not behind closed doors than Harry Reid, John Boehner, and Nancy Pelosi combined in their disgusting political careers.

    3) The GOPe is completely irrelevant to this entire discussion and the American people know it. Nice “tactic” and strategery there GOPe…..morons!

    4) The White House must be getting nervous because that pipsqueak Plouffe is out tweeting today. LOL

    5) The Morning Joe crew of dingbats are completely unhinged.

Only thing missing today is Nicolle Wallace offering her expert opinion.

  • Riley4Palin

If you have time today, go read the NRO twitter feed. It has a good helping of everything. Michelle Malkin continues to run circles around everyone with her brains. People I normally agree with (i.e. Jonah Goldberg for one) are still debating tactics (um…..), yet impressed that Cruz is still fresh and brilliant after standing there since yesterday afternoon, Queen Dingbat Jennifer Rubin is stuck in the back of the corner typing her little heart away still trying to make a name for herself and failing miserably, and the MSM crew who bow down to Obama can’t turn away from Cruz.

    • AmazedOne1

      Thanks for that helpful tip!

  • pete4palin

Daddy’s back from vacation and he’s going to be fired up! Rush that is, back on the air today. There were some comments about Sarah saying we “allready have a third party” meaning they thought she is putting a stop it it. Not at all. This was a warning shot to the establishment saying it wouldn’t take much at all to create a new party because it’s here right now. If the leadership wants to be ‘Democrat lite’ in their policies, then OF COURSE there will be a new party formed that is ready willing a and proud to promote conservatism.

  • susiepuma

Listening to dingy harry and I have to say that he is one of the most despicable, nasty persons that I have ever heard…………….I usually turn him off just like I do the fraud POS but I gotta ask – just what the hell is this idiot doing even being in the Senate – I thought Nevada had better sense – oh yeah, wait they did until the glitch in the voting machines happened and SEIU just happened to be the ones who ‘corrected’ the glitch………………. cheaters may win but in the long run they are nothing but losers and karma has a way of paying back……………………….

    • Firelight

      He is just awful…

  • MaMcGriz

Ted Cruz, I love you. I appreciate and respect you. America and I need you. Thank you, and never stop fighting for our freedom.

And speaking of hunky boys we all know and love….these being of the northern persuasion…

Two moose and two caribou….I just love it when the dads bring home those groceries!

The Palin & Heath freezers are full and ready for the winter ahead. That’s how it’s done.

  • susiepuma

Listening to those stupid dems speaking right now makes me feel so ashamed that I ever voted for a democrat……………… I am so sorry but I followed my parents’ lead and they were dems……………………. if there were anyway I could go back in time knowing what I know now, I would never have voted for ANY dem…please accept my sincerest apologies…..
The lies and diversion and misinterpretation of what was said is beyond belief and for a prog to quote Scripture blows my mind…………………..

    • LS as guest

I made the same mistake in my youth, susie. What’s important is that we opened our eyes, learned, and were willing to go with what’s right, just and truly kind–rather than what’s ‘cool’, facile and socially popular (at least in my neck of the woods).

    • c4pfan

I’m glad I have never voted for a Demonrat. Too bad I wasted money, time and energy on McCain.

  • Riley4Palin

It’s really hard to believe that John McCain and Meghan are related……

I assume Palin is watching John make a complete fool of himself on the floor and is too classy to speak bad of him. Well, I guess it is left to me. What a Jackass.

    • LS as guest

It’s all too easy for me to believe that John McCain and Meghan are related…

  • AmazedOne1

Reading them a bedtime story was the sweetest, cutest thing EVER!!!
