Americans really need to get outraged by these wasteful ventures. As we’ve seen time and time again, We the People are always stuck subsidizing the left’s “losers.”

Last week the State Department released a report indicating the Keystone XL pipeline would have little impact on the environment and would create more than forty thousand jobs during construction. With this news (confirming what we already knew), why isn’t the Obama administration moving forward on developing this pipeline? Because regardless of whether or not [...]

Margaret Thatcher once said that Europe was built on history and America was built on philosophy. She is right. Our leaders would do well to learn from Europe’s recent “green history” by eschewing the green socialism and corporatism of Europe and embracing again the pro market philosophy that founded this great nation.

Following President Obama’s State of the Union address earlier this week, Senator Marco Rubio and Senator Rand Paul gave Republican and Tea Party rebuttals respectively. Both of them spoke on important points like outrageous spending, high taxes, and the need for choice in education. Senator Paul rightly highlighted both the GOP’s complicity in big spending and the [...]

A State of the Union address should give us a true picture of the direction in which we are headed. But we didn’t get the truth last night. And it WAS Orwellian.

President Obama’s immigration speech was 3,079 words and applause lines, meaning that President Obama’s speech cost the taxpayers just under $520 per word and applause. Including the applause lines is being generous to the President, as if those weren’t included, his speech would have cost taxpayers $527 per word.

Suffice it to say, this latest proposal by President Obama appears to be nothing more than his version of conceal-carry–conceal the truth, and carry the misrepresentations.

The actual compromise is not a potential one between Republicans and Democrats, but the compromise that decades and decades of politicians of both parties have made with our Founding principles. Those who are held hostage are not solely the constituents of the present, but also future generations who will have to pay for the fiscal failures of the past and the present.

Governor Palin re-tweeted two tweets from Jedediah Bila noting the Obama administration’s decision to cut off drilling in more half of the over twenty-three million acres in the National Petroleum Reserve (NPR) in Alaska. The entire Alaska delegation and Governor Parnell support development of this area as do the Native groups, contrary to what the [...]

John O’Sullivan, a former adviser to Margaret Thatcher, has a great, succinct piece up at the National Review following the presidential debate between President Obama and Mitt Romney: Romney’s answer on Obamacare was a model one: crisp, clear, authoritative; the president’s initial statement and reply were not dreadful, just rambling and nervous. And the longer [...]

There is a saying that I like that states, “knowledge is knowing that tomato is a fruit; wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad”. I’d like to take that saying a step further by saying that intellectualism is writing an 5,000 word essay of why tomatoes should be put in a fruit salad.

It is interesting what the Founders chose to mention first in this document and its various sections, as often, what is mentioned first is what writers or speakers deem most important. The preamble to the Constitution begins with three simple words “We the people”.
